If there's time: the feature "SpecialFx > Border Around Image > Simple Border Around Image - Inside CTRL+ B" still doesn't follow the color settings in the options; the border is always black.

And a hot key for the "Simple Border Around Image - Outside" would be nice.

Try the new pixelate effect!

v2.93.01 - Mar 23rd, 2011

[Feature] Added new Pixelate filter (see options on SpecialEffects tab).
[MinorFeature] Added options for setting default print units and orientation (landscape, etc.)
[BugFix] When pasting bitmaps from clipboard, a border was put around them.
[MinorFeature] Additional attempt to speed up object editing mode when lots of objects on screen.
[BugFix] Custom border color was being ignored on some border options.
[MinorFeature] New option (set by default) to not attempt aero transparent capture on full-screen windows, since this can bump them out of full screen status.
[Feature] Improved built-in update checker.

Seems to work fine and the new Pixelate option seems nice.

Thanks for the latest update and I like the pixelate option. I don't know if the splice keyboard shortcut is new but that is also useful.

With the internal update check I've got the information, that my version (91) is the newest one. Then I downloaded the 93rd version directly and now the internal update check said:
You have a newer version (v2.93.01) than what's on the web (v2.91.01).

You may want to install the full DcUpdater application to support more powerful update checking (s ...

What's wrong?

the updater should find that version 2.93.01 is on the web -- the fact that it thinks the web version is 2.91.01 make me wonder if you aren't seeing a cached version of the online update file for some reason. but you DO have the latest version.

Thanks for this great program. Love it.

I am running the latest 2.93.01 on Win7. I am not getting the thumbnails of the images I snap like I used to on XP. Instead I get some generic images from the OS. Is there anyway I can restore the thumbnails so it shows the snapped image.

Any help would be appreciated. This is driving me nuts.

Minor update:

v2.95.01 - June 6, 2011

[BugFix] When capturing scans, the previous screencapture active window info could be kept in image comments.
[MinorFeature] Added Pixelate *outside* region special effect.
[Feature] Fixed bug in sorting by date and added new options to sort by either creation date or lastmodification date.
[BugFix] Windows 7 (vista?) could give error on startup about inability to create a .redirect file for update checker.

Heads up: now that i'm back into the swing of updates i hope to do another SC update this month and try to improve scrolling capture.

Hi!

The flash movie of Screenshot Captor stops after a minute or so into the movie.
I tried this out on the latest Opera Browser (Version 11.11) and also IE 7.
Anyone else having this problem? Thanks!

I also noticed the movie stopping shortly after hearing something like:

  "Let me just bring up some windows here..."

I tried this with relatively recent versions of FF, Chromium, and Midori -- viewing a downloaded version of the movie. FWIW, I was able to hear further using smplayer.

May be the screencasts for ScreenshotCaptor mentioned in the topic / thread:

Installed most recent (2.95.02) and just for curiosity, tried to check new version with autoupdate (Help -> Check for updates) and updater pops up big window indicating, that my version is newer than version database haves... Well, that's not a real issue but ... this window... There are no "Close this window" button etc anywhere.... and when I tried to capture this screen with Screenshot Captor itself, it only captured _empty_ notice window with only text "UPDATE CHECK" on it. All

I have a strong feeling about lurking bug here :)

Hi,

I have the same problem with there being no close option anywhere on the Update check screen in ScreenshotCaptor, I was however able to capture the window properly with it's text (see attached image). The other thing is the text says "You have a newer version (v2.95.02) than what's on the web (v2.95.01)." which is rather interesting.

I got excited and just pushed a new update which provides generous support for uploading screenshots using the free open source ZUploader 3rd party tool.

From Screenshot Captor you will see help for installing ZUploader in the options

A checkbox to auto queue in zuploader after taking a screenshot
A menu item in tray to upload last file
A menu item in the SendTo menu of the post capture pop-up dialog
A tool menu item in the main Tools menu.

In short, just install ZUploader and Screenshot Captor will know how to use it.

Works fine for me. Both XP SP3 with up to date copy and Windows 7 Pro 32 bit with out of date copy.

Maybe the non-English version of Windows or the "really old" version of ScreenShot Captor - my example below was running 2.93.01
