I wonder anybody here is using IBM clicky keyboard, like model 1391401.

I don't have one of those, but IBM's model M keyboards are known to be very good, and 1337... lol

I own a Labtec Ultra-Flat Keyboard. It's not very good, but i also only bought it because i didn't want to ruin my notebook's keyboard (it already happened to me, with an older laptop). So, i bought the cheaper keyboard there was at the store, only to be able to use it, and destroy it without regreting

Microsoft Natural keyboard (original design... not one of the new fangled ones with 6-squillion extra and unneccessary 'media' buttons).

some noname keyboard without "click" (kinda soft keystrokes, picked because i type pretty fast and it takes a lot more energy to use "hard" keyboards)
and even so it's a german keyboard i use the US layout to keep my fingers from falling off my hands (if you ever coded using a german layout, you'll understand)
no extra keys, no fancy windows-only features available thru yet-another-driver, just a plain keyboard

Hmm... loved those. Used to have one at work.

Right now I use MS Natural Keyboard Multimedia. It was the only ergonomic keyboard I could find in any store. $:-\$ Good: Ergonomic layout, quite large, heavy. Bad: F-lock keys (thanks someone made a registry patch), layout for home, end, del,... Don't use the multimedia keys at all.

i have a logitech keyboard with a bunch of extra buttons on it. the only thing i actually use on it however is the volume knob and mute button. i definitely recommend a keyboard with these, it does come in handy.

Yep, my keyboard also has a few multimedia buttons, and I love them, i use them all the time!
And when i am using my mouse, i make my mouse become a Multimedia Mouse

Good: Ergonomic layout, quite large, heavy. Bad: F-lock keys (thanks someone made a registry patch), layout for home, end, del,... Don't use the multimedia keys at all.

I'm using the Logitech Cordless Desktop Comfort (see photo below), your hands deserve a comfort/natural keyboard!
Good: ergonomic layout, good to type on
Bad: heavy (I like to put it aside and grab it again often)

The layout for Home, End, Del etc. isn't the standard one here neither, but I got used to it, no more problems.

Using a dell keyboard right now - it's black and it's buttons are just the right hardness to press, with just the right clicking sound. I also have a black IBM keyboard lying around but I like this one a tad better. It's a standard .dk keyboard layout with the two windows buttons and the context-menu button as well (since I'm mostly a keyboard guy, I appreciate those).

I do miss the volume buttons that my old logitech keyboard had, but other than that I've never been a fan of those zillion extra keys.

Same here — MS Natural Keyboard Multimedia. Love it, and every time I love something, a corporation kills it. Microsoft no longer makes it. I used to buy two keyboards, but by the time one wore out, there was something better and cheaper. Anyone remember the heavy duty North___(?) keyboards? They were awesome.

I'm using a Logitech G15 gaming keyboard. It's awesome, it's got a few multimedia keys (play/pause, stop, previous, next, and a volume knob), a normal layout, and 18 extra programmable keys on the left for macros and whatnot. The extra keys change their function based on what program you have open (so the key "G1" does one function in Firefox, and another in Fear). Oh yeah, it's also got an LCD screen that can display all kinds of system/application info: like track/play info from winamp, or cpu and ram usage.
Oh yeah again, it has a USB 1.1 (

) hub built in, and it's also lighted, but not in the normal way. The actual letters on the keys glow blue, it's really cool looking in the dark!

I would prefer a "natural layout" but switching between natural and normal between work and home was annoying.

The scroll down button closes tabs, scroll up button minimizes the window, scroll left and right switch tabs left and right, back and forward do their default commands, and the switch app button closes windows. I think that post didn't get much attention because i simply can't communicate as well as i'd like to.
Actually, i don't have my mouse set up like that. That's a thing I invented, mouse can act just normal, it only has that layout when you press one combination, that activates "multimedia mouse", which means, that you can use your mouse as normal, and then, when you press the combination that activates that mode, the mouse buttons are bound to those functions. You press the combination again, and the mouse buttons act like they act usually.

I also have many mouse gestures in opera, for opening tabs, closing tabs, cycling tabs, opening in new pages, go page back, go page forward, etc,etc,etc, but this doesn't interfeer with it, only when i activate the mode, to pause the music, or something. Usually, i only activate it to use one function, and then, do the combination again to use my mouse as i do always

ps: sorry to be nagging you, but the first time you read my post, did you understand that it worked like i explained here?

I did understood the way it worked from your first description, and your new one makes it perfectly clear!

I guess mine isn't actually similar, since I can't change mine on the fly. I guess I was commenting more on the great time-saver mouse buttons can be if you can change their function.

I use a keyboard I just love! Serious love! It's the way the keys are shaped, and the very light touch - quiet, too. Keyboards are extremely important to me, and I got turned onto this one about a year ago and there's no going back. It's cheap, too! It's the A4 Tech AntiRSI keyboard, model KBS-8. Here's more: link

I prefer taking the wrist rest part or whatever, off.

As I recall, you don't actually buy it from them, but you can find places to buy it by just searching. I really do think it's a fantastic keyboard. Actually, I think Kensington keyboards that you sometimes see in computer stores are the exact same thing; if not exact, some very, very minor difference.

PS: I didn't mention it allows fast typing. Trust me!

I am using a Microsoft MCE Remote Keyboard. I've found that it's the only wireless keyboard with a range of 35'.
