Brave doesn't have adware. It has ads if you explicitly opt in.  Same for the crypto tokens.

Screen ruler, anyone?

Pegtop PMeter is an onscreen ruler I've used for years and years.  Sometimes I use it as a straight-edge for when I rotate images in photoshop to x degrees to make sure it is visually plum.  This is a nice, simple ruler that you can drag around, resize and change orientation.
http://www.pegtop.net/pmeter/

There is another one I use called Meazure
http://www.cthing.com/Meazure.asp

Now this one has a ratio-squaring system.  I use it to calibrate my microscope to match my mushroom spore photos so I can accurately measure whatever is on my screen in microns.  Meazure lets you calibrate it's measurements and has all sorts of ways to show measurements right on the screen.

I've used both of these for years.

Been using this for several years for various reasons. When you have a session it tends to use a good bit of cpu (25-50%) and some memory as well, but works great and no significant resource drain when it is just waiting for connection.

The main down side to me is that it does not add an entry in the system's event log when a session starts or ends.

Please folks don't start submitting it to a/v engines or they will start marking it as a PUP and it will be a pain.  :D

https://github.com/Genivia/ugrep

For those that want a very fast grep tool with a GUI (Windows): BareGrep (it can also be used with the command-line)

Encountered that software years ago, and while it shows its age, there is nothing wrong with it's speed. Even with files and/or content that hasn't been indexed, it is very fast. Comes in both freeware and commercially licensed forms.
