remember first i mentioned BGM's JetToolbar? Now i want to talk about another tab launcher from Japan(with English support)--- Claunch
it has rich features and really configurable, just see a short demo below I made.

NO.2 Folder icons changer ;)
Sometimes you can figure out ur folder by giving it a nice name or you have a good habit to arrange it. but when time pass by, it will be in a mess, you can't focus on the most used folders in seconds :-\ . To me the more important is that when I drag the folder to the quick launch app as a folder menu, the icons are all the same and ugly.
Then i found these(FolderIconTool works for me windows10) four (FolderIconDrop not work for me) great (ImagesToIcon requires ImageMagick) tools (IconAnyFolder folder icons depends on the 1st exe files in that folder) from DC. also FolderICON(no link available, if you have interest maybe i can share my own download link.), the folder display the thumbnail of the image created by it.
there are many same kind of  tiny tools: FolderPainter, Dr.Folder...i don't want to talk about these.

what about yours?  ;D

Hi,
Toolwiz Time Freeze is an easy and effective Instant system restore software to keep your system safe and protect your computer from unwanted changes.
Turnning on the Time Freeze mode, the whole system is running in the "sandbox". Only the changes to the files in the exclusion list will be saved.
I use it all the time to test softawre; Very convenient.

Support OS:WinXP/Win2003/Vista/Win7/Win8/Win10(32/64bit)
Requirment: Disable the sechduler defrag and backup of Windows.

The many programs I use and can not be without them, some of which I feel are lesser known, are below,

http://www.quicknote.de/ - I use for : quick note popup small window with hotkey

http://www.resoph.co...phNotes/Welcome.html - I use for : note with tree and sync with simple note

http://www.ukrebs-software.de/ - I use for : calendar with reminder and execute programs and recurring events

And my own developed NANY programs, but they are well known, to be in this list, I think :)

Anand

Hi chashnniel,

Thanks for the appreciation.

Quicknote is different that it is has same set of text for all windows. I use it to quickly jot down some points, when working on one job and refer to it on another job.

One important feature I use "Quicknote" is to record keyboard, when i create passwords for a site, so that I know what password I typed. Many sites reject my simple password and insist on different ones and in the melee I forget what I typed finally.

Regards,

Anand

thanks for the information, anandcoral

i hesitated to install it because of the virustotal's rating(if people like me care about it ), but now i install and test it and everything is just fine.its clean.
i misunderstood u since the description quick note popup small window with hotkey ;D

quicknote has much function but now i just focus on the note taking part.
so quicknote(I call it a note dictionary) is a universal note taking prog with catalog and stickanote(I call it a window comments[just like TC's file/folder comments]) is used for a note taking for any special window(even if the same prog with different dimension), actually we can get it from its name.

And both you and the quicknote author are trying to humanize the note taking function.

I used to use Quicknote - and I've tried several others, but now I use QText.  It is basically the same, a tiny, tabbed notebook for jotting down notes which you summon via a global hotkey.
But here are some features of QText that I like in particular:
  • hyperlinks generated as you type
  • callto links generated as you type - this make it soooooo easy and fast to add clickable phone numbers (that I use with PhonerLite and my FreePBX system)
  • bulleted and numbered lists
  • some basic richtext formatting
  • text area has some advanced text editing functions
  • super fast

only if you can share several of your less-known collection :tellme:

I used to use Quicknote - and I've tried several others, but now I use QText.
personally i choose QuickNote, maybe i prefer old style design. :D
and we can use your TextWorx to enhance both Quicknote and QText.

smart unzip depends on the archive contains folder/single file or not
thx to Nod5's help--Smarter unzip
it seems seldom extract programs provide this kind of feature, and i think people are tired of checking the archive before unzip it with the right method.
But i found this(Noah) with lucky! It provide option for Not create directory when only 1 file or 1 folder is contained. and its another main feature attract me :-*, if you open a non-archive file, noah will compress it. as archive file, noah will unzip it. it it seems exactly reverse to my smartunzip request.
unfortunately it has bugs on windows 10, the context menu can't be added :( :(

Here comes some other useful software when I explorer my portable folder :)

MAXA-Lock from Germany. freemium   1.43M   EXE
It can totally lock your pc from an intruder. notify you with email skype... send their photos and even a video(premium feature) to you!
You should be very very very careful to remember the password you set or you are gonna to be crazy since there is no way to get them back. :'(. But I know how to solve this problem, since Maxa-Lock auto startup on windows, you can try to ctrl+alt+delete and restart the pc with shift pressed to the safe mode(of course there are many other way to the safe mode). Then you can delete it and restart to the normal system. But things go on when you try to reinstall it!!! You need to delete the regedit keys especially HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2654441480-1445004328-1549412186-1001\SOFTWARE\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MAXA\Lock(an easy way is to use total uninstall to uninstall it).

greenfish icon editor free.   5.77M   USB+

BareGrep A file finding and text searching tool. TC can do it well and even better but this program hasn't been updated since 2006 but still works great on win10. but it seems doesn't support unicode search. The free version with feature limited, the demo version with full feature but Automatically terminates in every 5 minutes.   245K   USB
and of course you should try its another real-time log file monitoring tool baretail.

qwertick adds a sound feedback to your keyboard. It helps a lot if you are practice typing.   33K   USB

Now come to auto correct/spell check.
AutoCorrect(with unicode version) can add you own defined autocorrect, here are two enhanced version from 4DBoy and tov, but tov's extra Edit box for hostrings options seems doesn't work for me.
texter also has this feature, (that's what AHK do, right? :P)
and tinySpell and global-IntelliSense-everywhere(difficult to use)
what about your auto correct software?

Microsoft Sets haven't officially released yet, its a great feature people are always dreaming of.

I guess WindowTabs (DOWNLOAD this fork) is well-known enough, but do you know it is free and open source now. But it is a little sluggish on windows 10.
And also here is another alternative multrin you should try.

I'm now trying to make a mind map for this topic, but since I don't have much spare time and it takes me a lot of time to make a demo gif for each program. I will upload the mm here as long as I finished it, but this is not a promise, maybe it will never be finished if I found it is meaningless. :)
My plan for the mind map is:
Classify it;
Insert official website;
Usage notation;
A gif demo.

TidyTabs does the tab window thing also. Free version lets you tab 3 windows, pro license removes that restriction ($9us). I thought I had seen it in this topic but missed it in a quick glance back.

Nice thread.

MaxMax
When I have a large screen, I keep a section of two column widths open on the right.  I keep my Linkman dropbasket, icons like those for killing programs pskill, maybe a note thing, winlister, screen capture, in that area.  You might have some good ideas.  Yes, it could all be handled from the start menu, but it helps clear thinking.  If Quicknote sizes nicely I might put it there, Pnote or Notezilla would other examples.

Add some funny stuff. ;D

coffee open files with ur defined application instead of the system associated one when you press the Alt key.  258K   USB

Hline make your cursor into a horizon line. Stupid right? ;D, it should be helpful when reading article.  31K   USB
PS: you can add color like FF00FF to the shortcut (target) to change the line color.

Nyan Cat Progress Bar, yeah, nyan cat! It displays the Nyan Cat over the top of progress bars. Maybe your child will love your PC more.   662K   USB
PS: It seems doesn't works very well on Windows 10.

Security Check. It checks your vulnerable applications for security.   460K   USB

Y'know, I use Mike Lin's Crosshair periodically if I'm working on tabular data that has a lot of space in a column. It just puts a crosshair across the screen where the cursor is, either following the cursor or stationary. Many download sources including Softpedia, I forget where I found it. My settings shown here, the red lines are the crosshairs.

I recommended Pointofix in my first post in this topic. it can draw on screen which helps in demonstrations.
Now I wanna recommend another alternative, An annotation and screen zoom tool with KB shortcuts + Display keystrokes --- DemoHelper   single file,   248K   USB
(of course you can also try StExBar on this website)

MouseIMP a small utility can scroll page with your mouse in required direction + "autoShrink" feature makes only title bar remains automatically.   1MB   EXE

Hi, user4589, and welcome to the site!  I see that your two posts were related to software that has similar names and a similar developer/site, i.e. [link removed].  How are you related to that site?  If you are the developer, then we require that you state your relationship and share them in the announce your own product section instead of spreading them in bits across the site.
