They are offering $60 credit to referrer and referree to anyone who buys an oculus and activates it before the end of december -- that's pretty substantial.

So if you're planning to buy one, find a friend who has one to exchange a referral -- or message me, I'm happy to do it :)

You could also try my Desktop Coral app:
https://www.donation...ws-apps/desktopcoral

"DesktopCoral is an unusual program designed to "reserve" some portion of your desktop which is shielded from maximized applications..

Essentially, it acts like an invisible resizeable docking bar, which can be docked to any side of your desktop. This invisible dock acts as a barrier to maximized applications and essentially shields this area of your desktop from other applications.

Within this shielded area you might put certain application windows that you want to be always visible, or you might put one of the many desktop tools like a calendar or system information component.

Why would you need a tool like DesktopCoral?

DesktopCoral was requested by someone who uses the Samurize desktop system information utility. This fun utility and others like it draw text and graphics on top of your desktop. But when working with other programs, this information can be covered by these other windows. DesktopCoral solves this problem by reserving an area of your desktop where normal programs will not be expanded into."

Is there a way to force FARR to look at a local folder for .ini and Custom Aliases?
If you edit the ConfigDir.ini file in the FARR program files directory you can point it to where you want the data files to be stored.
I'll have to check out this change in windows 11 -- Sounds like I may have to change the default location to be local documents area that onedrive will not alias.

Thanks, will fix.  New update coming this month.

Game 6 was INTENSE!

That is odd..
Is it possible that there is another object in front of the invisible one?  If you restart SC do you then see the object?
Does it matter if you change the "Blend Mode" option near top of that sidebar?
Could you try changing this option and restarting SC to see if it makes a difference:

Autohotkey does sounds like your solution -- someone with knowledge about AHK will no doubt be able to reply here and tell you exactly how to do it.

Make sure you check out John's video:

Highly watchable.

When I saw John in real life over thanksgiving, I thought I would flex my youtube creator knowledge, and warned him about getting a copyright strike on the music playing in the background.
To which John replied that he had created the music himself, specifically for the video.
To which I thought, yes, of course you did, John.  Of course you did.

Gothic (John), a programmer and electronics savant, who used to handle server administrator for DonationCoder, had a project featured on Hackaday.com today.  Very cool stuff.

He found a weird old keyboard (with trackball) on ebay and it turned out to come from a nuclear missile silo.  After some work with an Arudino board he got it talking to USB interface.  Very cool.

All my apps are still available to direct download the apks.

It only happens by default after a "Save As.." action.  You can disable it here:

I've been having a blast playing this every day and talking with a friend about strategies for purposefully trying to lose in hard mode.
"Hard Mode" may make it harder to think of words to guess, but it seems to us that it *mostly* makes it hard to lose since being restricted to previous clue consistency quickly narrows down word possibilities.  But it is still possible to lose with some creative use of double letters, etc.  One thing to consider when trying to lose is that hard mode says it restricts guesses to be consistent with clues, but it will actually let in some guesses that are inconsistent -- for example when you use a letter twice and you get the location right and then for the second use you get a "not in the word", you shouldnt be able to guess a word with that letter doubled up any more, but the game won't stop you from doing that repeatedly.

Moves this thread to NANY 2022 section as I will be releasing these extensions freely for NANY 2022.

There are a couple of things that can slow down SC:
  • Having hundreds and hundreds of screenshots in the current screenshot directory (you can use the Move to Old function in the move menu)
  • When SC tried to grab the url when making a capture from a web browser; try going into capture options and disabling the capture of url address

yep, same word for everyone. i take it that and the fact there is only one per day is part of the charm.
it's a neat little unintuitive lesson for game developers.  here's a simple way to have a kind of shared experience among all players.

There is an advanced mode in options that requires each guess be consistent with the previous clues.. i think it makes it more interesting and challenging.

Been enjoying this:

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

There is only one new word each day, so you can't keep playing it.  Simple fun little brain puzzle word game you play in your web browser:
