I really need a software to monitor for newly added ebay items of specific category and keywords...

also to notify if there is a 'buy it now' item with less than specified price

thanks

You can set up these type of eBay searches (available in the form of RSS for over a year, check the bottom of your results page to get the link) in an RSS Feed reader like FeedDemon (or a free alternative, ie. Great News).  Then have it set to refresh at various intervals, even notify you in some programs.

As far as the topic applies, I use eBay's Turbo Lister to list my auctions, it's quite simple and free.  I have also been using Auction Sentry Deluxe for the past 3 years, it has only failed me once in that time (over 200 snipes) and that was due to eBay changing the way the handle various activities, which does happen from time to time.  Before I used Auction Sentry I was an avid Auction Tamer user, it was just too clunky though.

What a retelling of events that was. A little more accurate and complete version of events was right before KenR went to the hospital, Mouser asked him to review the eBay software and stated that he only wanted KenR to tell him about the very best software.  Of course, as you can all well imagine, when I was telling him about the programs with particular strengths that I thought he might want to see, I had to wait through all the inevitable mousering. :wallbash: After I had essentially finished reviewing all the eBay clients prior to hospitalization and again after I was discharged from the hospital, Mouser asked me to jot down notes on the programs I had reviewed because he was going to write a review of the software.

Fortunately, since I knew what it would be like to try to write notes for those 100 software programs AFTER I had reviewed them :hanged: I have consistently refused to get involved with this review.

So you enjoy putting this one together mouser. I'm staying asleep!

How about just a list of the top few for starters?

OMG Deozaan! What an incredibly reasonable request.

Five that I thought the best or had particular strengths were:
Speed Bid
Bayside Sniper II
ESR - Auction Watcher
Auction Navigator
Auction Defender

Addendum
The last two that I thought were good or had particular strengths were:
Prospector
SpeedBid

ShowCase

I found this software a couple of weeks ago, i was looking for a program that would upload images to my ftp then i could copy and paste the Images then add to Nvu for making my ebay auctions.
But then i found this program and its amazing saved alot of time ftping and copy and pasting.

worth trying out.

Like several others have written, I would strongly recommend both Auction Sentry and Auction Sentry Deluxe.  The author, Dan Hite, has provided excellent, responsive, support whenever needed due to ebay changes.   I have used Auction Sentry ($14.95 lifetime license) for many years and still use it on occasion.  I upgraded to Auction Sentry Deluxe ($24.95 license for up to 3 computers with $9.99 annual renewal) when it was offered to Auction Sentry users as an upgrade for the usual price of license renewal, because I wanted to try the additional features offered for more than the ten days permitted by the trial license.  Since that time I have purchased two Deluxe license renewals and feel the 84 cents a month has been an extremely worthwhile investment.

For those of you who are even more frugal than I am, keep your eyes open, since Dan has offered Auction Sentry Deluxe for the price of an annual license renewal a couple times in the past year.  It has saved me much frustration and many more dollars than I paid.

I'd have to use an Web-based online service because I'm not online 24/7, but was put off by a comment in one of the UK magazines that some eBay sniping sites are centres of ID theft.  Any comments on that, please?

Another endorsement for Auction Sentry Deluxe here.  It's annoying to have to keep it running, but that's the nature of the beast, and I'm not going to use an online eBay sniper, as I don't want to give out my ID.

<RANT>Ok, i need to get an iPod Nano 8gb for my girlfriend's birthday so i thought it would be wise to use a sniping tool due to the popularity of those iPods en eBay. I use to free version of auctionstealer from time to time and i'm quite happy with it, so i decided to upgrade to the premium version for a month, to get 3 seconds sniping and unlimited snipes. I went on the website, logged in, used my paypal account to pay 11.9$, payment went well etc. It's been two days now and the upgrade who was supposed to be done immediately hasn't been activated yet. I have no news from AuctionStealer whatsoever and my support email is still unanswered.</RANT>

Thanks for warning the rest of us.
Hope the delay doesn't prejudice your chance to get what you need (lucky girlfriend).

To this day, my account hasn't been upgraded and my e-mail hasn't been answered. Looks like guys at auctionstealer.com steal more than auctions...

events that was. A little more accurate and complete version of events was right before KenR went to the hospital, etc. etc.

Off-topic I know but if we ever launch the "post of the month" competition, I vote for this one from Ken  ;D

EDIT: oh balls, I only just noticed that post was 1170 days ago  :-[

Or, as Frink would put it:

#2011-02-24# - #2007-12-12# ->days
1170
