What does everyone think about having a super short 10 minute zoom meeting open to all donationcoder folks?
Just to say hello and put face and voice to forum nickname and do something weird?

We'll just all go around and say our names and say hello and then quickly sign off before we feel too nervous.

Date: Saturday, May 2nd
Time: 4pm central standard US time (forum time)

Don't mind a meet-n-greet, Zoom I rather stay away from. Yet, there are few alternatives for big(ger) meetings.

Let's go with zoom for this first meeting, since I am set up for it.

For those that have never used Zoom, it's a multi-user video/audio chat program for holding meetings online.
You can install the free client, OR just run it via the web without installing anything.

I'm in. I use Zoom/GoToMeeting/WebEx/Jitsi every day for work. What's another conference call? Hahahaha.

Would have liked to say Hello and see members, but time is constraint ; it will be early morning here, no zoom yet AND working on office projects from home.

I bet this was idea about Zoom meeting came from Mrs. Mouser. During the meeting she is going to make a suprise cameo appearance and try to get from you information about how you treat your wifes and so on. Or she will just try to sell you some flowers.

This is going to be epic.

The meet and greet is tomorrow, 22 hrs away !

Here's how we are going to do it:

1. Because there is a risk if I post the meeting info publically that we will get spammed or pranked, I will need to send everyone the link the meeting privately.
2. Sign up on the new donationcoder ZOOM meeting mailing list: https://www.donation...ailing&ctrl=user
3. I will open the meeting (or a different one) and hour early (3pm forum time) and leave it running in the background for people who want to test their connection and webcam/audio setup and just see how zoom works.

Bottom line -- join the zoom meeting mailing list if you want to join this meetting OR one in the future, so that you receive connection info for meetings.

Can we lighten up on the short and tight window thing?? Mayhaps if the "carrot" dangles a bit...more folks can/will make it in..

I'm working on "angling it in" (schedule wise), but wife stuff/dinner is/can/will make it hard to hit.

Follow up thought: More folks might be able to join in if you kept the window open a bit (like 30 minutes) longer so they could pop in for the duration of their comfort level...

Well that was quite an experience.. We had 300 hard core donationcoder members show up for an amazing debate.
And we gave away some great prizes -- two new cars and $500k in cash prizes.
