Hoppy Easter~!
« on: April 22, 2011, 02:42 AM »
Hoppy Easter everyone~!

I have 1 and only 1 joke, but it's visceral and in steps... (Potentially offensive...)

Step 1
Stand up and stick your left arm out straight to the left.

Step 2
Stick your right arm out straight to the right.

Step 3
Tilt your head to one side.

What is that?

Punch line
A shitty way to spend Easter!

 ;D Excellent! ;D

Brings back memories of jokes learned when I became an altar boy. (Talk about "potentially" offensive!) Working 'backstage' at your church can be an...enlightening experience. Never looked at organized religion quite the same way after my temporary and peripheral stint in it.

Having somewhat of a penchant for sacrilege, I had to PM the alternate ending (because it is offensive) for that joke to Renegade.

Ha!! A lot of conservative American christianists greet each other with "Happy Easter!" But according to their bible, there was nothing happy about the events of the weekend. I'm sticking with the Flying Spaghetti Monster for now.

(Translation: Glad it wasn't me) Everybody else had a great weekend, the weather was nice...

Nothing happy about the events of the weekend? Are you serious?

Christianity is meaningless without the events of that weekend. It's not about the death of Christ. It's about His resurrection and the gift of the atonement for our sins.

If you don't believe it, that's fine by me.

But if you do believe it, then there's nothing happier in the world than knowing your sins can be forgiven and you will be resurrected, all because of the events that took place that weekend.

Exactly.  It's not like Christians go around wishing each other a Happy Good Friday (Good Friday being the day Jesus was crucified).  Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus.  I don't see how that would not be happy for a believer.

Thanks for the explanation, I actually didn't see it that way :)
