If you're getting worked up about this it's virtually certain that you'll need a Hyper Vysor

That's what I was figuring you'd be. ;)  But we went on a different tangent, so I wouldn't want to make it a Div Vysor.

I switched to the superb Tweetings Twitter client two days ago. It has three killer features:

  • You can edit your tweets.
  • You get real push notifications over Google Cloud Sync instead of requiring the official Twitter app to be installed like (e.g.) Flamingo does.
  • New: You can hide long tweets with more than 140 characters.

Recommended.

And if you want to archive all your Twitter DMs, (text, images, and videos), you can use DMArchiver.

Twitter may flag it as a bot the first time you run it and lock the account but I've found I just need to be logged in via a browser, answer the "I am human" question that pops up, then run DMArchiver again.

Technically, you are running a bot but it's not doing anything malicious so it's kind of a grey area since they don't mention anything about automated reading.

Technically, every single automatic bot you want to run needs to be checked by the Twitter Bots team unless you want to violate their ToS.

Any tips for SatNav for Android? (in case relevant: for use in Europe)
I'm coming from a Windows phone so dont have a clue where to begin.

See this mention from 2015 -
OSMAnd+ Maps & Navigation
I have found openstreetmap better than google maps on occasion.

I've used Here WeGo (in the US, but it has global maps). You can download the maps for offline use, I installed this on my wife's iphone for use at the women's march in Washington in case there were too many other people to get a cell signal (which there were). Also used it in the back woods of North Carolina when Siri couldn't get a signal (which made me smile). It has worked well for me when I needed it.

Link for the en_US page is here.

If you've got a data connection Google Maps is pretty good, (I used it throughout Ukraine), but I also had MapFactor Navigation installed for OSM offline maps - I found OSMAnd very slow when it came to scrolling around.

If you go to MyMaps on your computer you can plot your route in Google which then becomes available under Google Maps on the phone, (Menu->Your Places->Maps), you can set it as the route to follow rather than your usual options of shortest or quickest.

eg. My Ukraine routes depending on what happened when I got there.

Traffic condition monitoring is pretty good in Google Maps too.

I've used Here WeGo (in the US, but it has global maps).

It might have changed but from when I had it installed it wouldn't work in China, (including HK), due to the Chinese Government, no map downloads were available, (same with Google Maps).  Obviously irrelevant if you never plan on going there but something to be aware of if you are, rather than find out when you're there.
The same is applicable to some other destinations.

You had to use something OSM based if you wanted Chinese maps.

HERE is available on Android - it's the Android variant of the nav used on Windows phone, and has the "offline maps" option which google maps do not.

Google Maps does actually, it has had it since 2015-11-10.

Naptime - An aggressive Doze Service, has basically doubled my battery time from 24-30 hours to 2+ days, (dependent on activity naturally - I have a lot of screen off time).

Should have mentioned, it does have ads but the developer allows you to turn them off, however a large card/banner will remain in the Settings area unless you donate, (doesn't interfere with operation and there are no Donation-only settings, everything works).

He also has another app along the same lines called Servicely - it requires root access.  Naptime doesn't but will use it for enhancements if it's available.

Has anyone used Android Parallel Space?
I'm a bit new to Android. When I stumbled upon Parallel Space I though it looked like it could be pretty handy, however the feedback on it in Google Play store doesn't seem terribly useful. Maybe it was one of those "It was good in its time" apps?

I've never used it, but it looks interesting in concept.  Not sure seeing the comments about cloning an app if it requires multiple instances of apps and just partitions them into different user spaces.  I see a few others apps for the same thing; not really sure what the difference is, but would be interested in seeing others' responses to this query.

Aurora Droid

Thanks for these recommendations!

Kind of funny that Aurora Droid strongly recommends you use F-Droid to install it. ;D Or maybe that's just the F-Droid website giving itself preferential treatment.

This and SkyTube -- as they need to be updated from time-to-time to function correctly, so if you have both, there's a better chance of accomplishing the intended aim with at least one of them ;)
