oh wow you have a huge screen there, and the list view looks nice.

are you using wintidy? can it remember the icon position or you are using 'desktop restore' to remember the positions?

anyone knows how can i have list view on desktop in xp like this: (instead of the default icons view)

thank you.

It seems that theBat can't display images not included in the downloaded message!

that's undesirable, so what are you going to try next?

how bout Thunderbird?

any reason you dont use Outlook Express?
it works well for me.

or you can change it to "single click to open an item".

i love this website   , i wish one day it will become a reality, no more clicking, just mouse movements.

do you use a pc or mac?

i have a pc, for browsers i use a proxomitron filter to convert all bright background color to grey, for windows you can find a darker theme, there are plenty of them in deviantART.

what version of winrar do you use? i have version 3.42 it unpacked it without any problem.

may be this is related to the error you seeing: NOD32 and WinRAR 3 Archives

if bypassing NOD32 didnt help, try an older version of winrar see if it fixes it.

from my test drive, V1.01 is perfect!!! well done jgpaiva.

the ability to control with the middle click is brilliant.

i get this in default:

this new version really works, one small problem, no matter what i do i cant get it to split the screen in 50/50.

Living Room / Re: Anyone know any good free font sites
« on: July 04, 2006, 09:15 PM »
this site is in Chinese, it has tons of fonts:

also this site:

Oo er ... it downloaded quickly but it is taking WinRAR an age to unpack it (longer than the download!)
-Carol Haynes (July 04, 2006, 05:17 PM)

winrar took only 30secs to unpack for me, i think it was your AV that slowed it down, bypass NOD32 and try again.

i read thieir Website Use and Conditions they look alright and reasonable to me, but if the documents contain credit card and confidential info, then it's not that safe to use these online editors i guess.

Zoho Writer an online word processor can read/write import/export ODT format to other format like .doc.

same as Writely and ajaxWrite.

source: Text documents (.odt)

you can stream the flash file if you like, no need to download first, like what we see in youtube, ie.

there is an "Embed" code, paste that on your website and it will stream from youtube.

Living Room / Salaries of Charity CEOs
« on: July 04, 2006, 01:58 AM »
OMG i didnt know these CEOs get such a good pay, more than USD400K!!!

Here are the most accurate figures for the above-listed executives I could find in reliable sources:

# Marsha J. Evans, President and CEO of the American Red Cross, was paid $468,599 in salary and benefits in fiscal 2003. (Source: BBB Wise Giving Alliance)

# Brian Gallagher, President and CEO of United Way, was paid $432,709 in salary and benefits in fiscal 2003. (Source: Charity Navigator)

yes, my favorite viewer irfanview simply freezes.

ACDSee is the king for large files.

at least xnview can display it in thumbnail, both of them cant open the image.

sorry, link fixed.
yes XnView is not that bad, at least it can display the image in thumbnail.

my computer has 1GB of RAM, pagefile is off.

the image i was trying to view/open:
type: .tif file
size: 75 MB
image properties: 61803x7200x32b

(if you like to try, this is the image in rar (yousendit link)

i tried a lot of image viewers, nothing worked even when i turned on the page file to 4GB, most of the viewers just freeze.

ACDSee (version 5 and above) opened the image beautifully even with pagefile off , mem usage increased from 30MB++ to 130MB++ and then dropped back to 45MB when the image is opened.

so amazing, big thumb ups to ACDSee.

edit: fix link.

i wont install or use it even if it's free.
