Living Room / Re: Reinstalling Windows XP ... how big is yours?
« on: May 12, 2006, 08:38 PM »
my fresh xp sp2 was only 600MB, i used nlite to remove msn and some other useless stuffs and cleared dllcache folder.

currently my c drive is 1.6GB after i installed 200 programs, all programs installed to d drive, size 1.5GB, i try to keep c drive as small as possible so that defrag is faster and image drive is smaller.

23.9Gb is huge, run TreeSize and find out what take so much space, i have 200 progs and the total size is only 3GB.

General Software Discussion / Re: Video File Thumbnails
« on: May 08, 2006, 10:43 PM »
thanks for this great info. :)

i use a batch file to rename all .mov and *.rm to *.RM.AVI when i switch to thumbnail mode, and rename back when i am back to details mode, not perfect but it works.

for .png, my default xp can view it in thumbnail, no need to install additional software.

TU wont remove the trial key in the registry, i tested a shareware program a while ago but didnt like it, so i uninstalled it with TU and when i tried it again recently, the program is expired.

TU doesnt remove everything.

thank you, it's okay now.

any page that has images, for example this one:

no prob Deozaan,

actually you can use XP schedule task, i just checked it has this feature,

with this you can have multiple programs at different idle times. :)

agree with lanux128, what are the name of these processes?

IdleMute is pretty close to what you after.

you can also run start the screensaver and password protected it.

i prefer a tooltip. >:D

You're welcom zridling, i am not sure why it works only in the preview for you, is the read only or something?

i attached a screenshot of 1-4a Rename here, you can see it is really simple:

can you rename a simple file?

try create a new txt file: 123_123.txt
in a new folder
then use 1-4a Rename to rename the file to 123.123.txt
by checking "replace" _ with .

then click "start"
