should be fixed now -- you should see up to 1000 results.

If you can't find what you're looking for follow the instructions at the top of the results page for how to do a more thorough search.
Thanks, I was just looking at the speed but I'll keep your advice in mind.

Searching: Would it be possible to have an option so that pages 1..n could be concatenated and scrollable, rather than n separate pages?

I'd put it on my todo list, but at this point my todo list has been concatenated and is scrollable for miles.
I think the more likely even that will happen before then is the possibility of migrating all of our content to a new forum system at the end of the year.  Right now I'm still spending 18 hour days working on getting all of the final little the server migration details working right.

The search function on the forum is still not working right (searching in topics-only is clearly not working).. I'm not quite sure what the nature of the problem -- it's probably related to the forum database api.. I'm working on it.

I happened to have just searched the music thread -- the first attempt didnt work. It suggested I try again, but to notify the authorities if it didnt work a second time. It did work (properly I think) on the second attempt.

Ok searching in topics-only and in current topic should be working now..  Still some tweaking to do to get search results to be better, but I think we are back to where we were before.
(note that some caching of search results happens so if you search for something again that you searched for prior to my fixes, youll get old empty results until the cache clears).

FYI: The search failures were my fault -- I was over-eager in cleaning out a database table that I thought was related to logs but was actually important for search.  Table replaced and updated, no harm done, no data lost.
I've tweaked the search results a little now, so maybe they will be a tiny bit more relevant than they have been on the old server.. but after everything else is sorted out I'll try to go through and improve search results.

Job well done, methinks.
Probably lots of curly "rats and mice" issues to fix up, post implementation, but I would presume that's usually likely to be the case, in any complex migration, regardless of how well-planned the project was.

For me in NZ, the main DCForum at URL <https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php>
http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=mi9ekvt647tf1t4tbugu88svg7&type=rss;action=.xml
- seems to have somewhat erratically stopped feeding my BazQux feed-reader, which may be attributable to the delay in repopulating TCP/IP tables, or something.
At the same time, the usually less active DCForum Blog address at <https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php> seems to be broadcasting.
http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=.xml;limit=10;sa=blogs;type=rss2
- Maybe they have swapped over somehow?

Sorry. Can't describe it better than that as I don't know the inner workings of BazQux, nor where its server(s) are located.

I know it wasn't reported here, but we just finished fixing all the date/versions that were wrong on a lot of mousers software.  The downloads themselves were not affected by this in any way, but some of his software pages reported that they were last updated in 2015, which was clearly wrong lol (My fault...we created those pages quite a long time ago and didn't think to check the info before the launch lol).  All fixed now though :)

It seems the favicon for the root domain is different than the one for the forum. The forum one looks normal (mostly blue planet). The root domain one is more purple colored.

Ah, I think I understand the problem now - the RSS feeds would seem to have been somehow disabled/deleted/not included in the new CMS/website.
Are they going to be restored?

I figured this out. It seems to work OK:  <https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=.xml;limit=10;sa=rtopics;type=rss2>

I think but not sure the problem lies with the PHPSESSID and maybe just need to remove the PHPSESSID from the url as seems to work without it...

Like the following example:

Code: Text [Select]
  1. https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?type=rss;action=.xml
:)

While roaming around, I found one small mistake, year is showing 2017, though page is opening correct of 2018.

I guess Ghacks can't be making all the mistakes.

Wow.  Looking very nice.  For a while the site was looking too old and too quiet. Very encouraging!
