Usage
Installation
Download the zip file and extract its contents into a new folder. Run sLyrics.exe to start the application.

Uninstallation
Exit the application and delete the folder you unzipped it to.

Unfortunately, at this time, it appears that the ChartLyrics website is down. It was up a few days ago so, hopefully, it comes back up in a few days and you can actually use this application.

I've uploaded v1.0.2 with better startup checking for Windows 10. The ChartLyrics site still isn't up at the time of this post but at least sLyrics shouldn't go unresponsive now. I'm pretty frustrated that the ChartLyrics website went unreachable after developing this app. The site has been flakey in the past, but not to this extent. If anybody knows of another free lyrics site with a free API, feel free to let me know.

Yeah, it is. It wasn't the most complete lyrics site around but the API was easy to use and free to access. The app works quite nicely, too, when the site is available. I am keeping my eye on the site, though.

I went through that entire list and none of the were viable for a freeware application. There were either:

Dead
Not free
Free, but limited to only the first 150 characters of a song

For Lyrics I use the best Winamp Plugin out there: Minilyrics (I use with KMPlayer)
Free! Even tons of lyrics are sincronized with time information for display karaoke style

This plugin use the site Viewlyrics.com. I think what the plugin is their property...

Sadly the website is very simple (without a search engine

)
So I think what no API.
Maybe contacting the webmaster and ask?

Looks like the API is back online. However, you will need to download the latest version:

What does this actually do? It's obviously something to do with lyrics and apparently interacts with the ChartLyrics website. But that does not describe what it does. A better description would be very helpful for occasional visitors.

I don't know what else he could add, other than in one of the descriptions in the PAD file, he adds browser to the description

In the app, you enter a music artist, a song name, and press the search button. If there are matches on the ChartLyrics website, those will be shown in the list below the search fields. You can then select one of the matches to see/read the song lyrics in the edit field to the right of the list. Does that help?

When you run this program today (years later) it says this on the first run.

The ChartLyrics.com API does not appear to be accessible at this time. Please try this application again when the ChartLyrics.com website is available. Apologies for the inconvenience.
