Dunno. My UAC is in full armor - so it may well be the reason for it.
Anyway, like I said, no showstopper, just wondered if there was an easy cure. If not, no worries, can live with it.

To reproduce:

Resize e.g. first column smaller -- so as text not all readable
Resize window height - [the columns auto-resize to text width]
Resize first column again

Splat freezes, (has to be killed)

Yes, this is a bug that has haunted me forever when using toolbars in my AHK apps. It doesn't happen all the time nor does it happen on all systems. For instance, I just tried your steps listed below and it didn't hang. Basically, it's a WM_NOTIFY messaging queue issue. I have spent hours trying to fix it and have made some headway during that time but I've never been fully able to solve it. Very frustrating.

That said, there is a way to get around having to kill Splat. If it happens again, alt-tab away from Splat, minimise it via the taskbar, and then focus it again. It should be responsive at this point.

'Computer idee' isn't the most technical magazine out there, but it is read by a lot of enthusiasts, so if there isn't already a lot of traffic coming from the Netherlands, expect it soon.

If there could be an option to make Splat support multiple languages, it would be an even greater hit. If that is an option, then it isn't a problem for me to do the Dutch translation.

''Computer Idee's'' (I believe it also releases an German version) main aim is people who don't know much (or a little) about computers. But everyone wants to learn en will eventually learn more and more. Since early 2015 they started to evolve a bit ... They involve the reader a bit more too. I've tipped them on Anuran (also from donationcoding). One of the first programs for me, use it every day ever since. But now I'm wandering off..

Just installed Splat on Windows 10 (which I'm trying to like) and was looking for help in the programs help section but there's nothing there yet.
Is it possible to launch volume controls (increase, decrease, mute)?

Windows sometimes does a very messed up thing with .chm help files you download from the internet, it silently marks them as untrusted and "blocks" the help file and refuses to display any contents in them, while not telling you what it is doing.

If this ever happens to you, right-click on the .chm help file in your file explorer, choose file properties from the menu, and you should see an "Unblock" button you can press to fix the problem.

The help file is named Splat.chm and should be in the same folder as Splate.exe (please try mouser's fix above if you have trouble viewing it). Regarding volume controls, no, there are none in Splat currently.

You should not run the help file from an archived directory.

Not natively, no. However, you could call NirCmd from Splat to do that.
