What are your favorite movies?
« on: February 12, 2013, 06:52 PM »
I've recently rewatched some of my favorite lesser known movies, and I love them so much.  I thought we should have a thread about our favorite movies.

I'll start with two that I think are very special.

How many quotes do you know from this movie?

The Princess Bride:

the princess bride.jpg

My name is Inigo Montoya.
You killed my father.
Prepare to die.

;D

Vizzini: He didn’t fall?! Inconceivable!
Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I second the Truman Show, and also giggled at Howard the Duck back in the day.

Some of my current favorites are Pleasantville, The Negotiator, and The Game.

Here's a baker's dozen. Some of my 'not-too-weird' favorites, in no particular order:

Chocolat.jpg  DonJuan.jpg  InBruges.jpg

InsideMan.jpg  Kontrol.jpg  Mothman.jpg

That should keep you busy. :P

Some of them:

Ah! A fellow horror-flick lover~!

Perhaps one of the best horror films I've ever seen:

I'm going to have to check out some flicks. There are a few recommendations up there that I've not seen, but sound good.

I'm not going to second much as there are too many good ones above, but +1 for Cube. Great flicks.

I didn't even know that Old Boy was released outside Korea.

It's perhaps one of the more disturbed movies out there. Deeply disturbed...

+1! :tellme:

That bit of movie strangeness left my brain agitated for a day or two after I saw it. Very disturbing movie. It outdid the cult classic Videodrome for leaving you in a weird state of mind afterwards.

That's precisely why I liked it. I like movies that make my brain feel like it was caught in a bug zapper. When trying to recall some that maybe not everyone has seen before, Old Boy was the first to come to mind.
