Spartan Clipboard: Giveaway
« on: December 31, 2011, 09:49 AM »
viewmenu.jpgTyping something you’ve typed before? Searching for that graphic file, web address or phone number you know you have somewhere? Want to browse your digital photos and paste them straight into your email or word processor? You need Spartan!

Spartan isn’t just a multi clipboard. It’s a complete information center for your PC. You can save virtually anything you need to remember…

And when you come to reuse your clips, Spartan will show a preview of each clip and provide you with:

A picture browser for your digital photos.
A browser launch button when the clip contains a web address.
An email launch button when it contains an email address.
A dial button when it contains a phone number.
A run or open button where it is a program or file on your computer.

Yes, I also installed this yesterday...  Pretty cool.  It has a kind of old and clunky feel to it, but has some innovative features.  There's no support forum which is a huge drawback IMHO.  Looks like there's a (fairly inactive) Facebook page though.  The coolest thing, is that you can change the location of the data folder to a folder in your Dropbox folder and it'll tolerate sharing the file between two computers.  (Have to close and re-open Spartan to see the changes).

Looks like it might have developed from the old Classic Clipboard program, which at one time met my needs very well.  My wife still uses it.

I was not sure to post here, but I found some (not good) news about the clipboard that I use all time.

The site says:

M8 Software ceased trading on 23 Jun 2019

As some of you may know, M8 Software was a one man business. The proprietor was diagnosed with cancer some time ago and is no longer fit to manage the business. A new owner is being sought.

Best wishes to the author, quite helpful man.

There are 4 versions: free version, basic version, lite version and a standard version (some versions have a portable package too).

The freeware version is still available here:
