This is a lot of work, and I normally work on much larger images, but if you are willing to give me enough time, I can do the rest for you too.

apples-s.jpg

Unfortunately, I may not be able to do the ones with the glasses. Removing an object from around something is a whole lot easier than from within something.  :(

If you need stock photos of these items, I could help you locate some free ones more suitable, without the extra objects in them.

@kalos, begin with the obvious; ask the site for permission!
Then it would be logic to explain that Dollar and PayCard doesn't apply in your country, if they maybe have a copy without these xtras?

Couple more removal type apps which might be of use to someone...

InstantMask is a freeware designed for removing backgrounds.
http://clipping-path...udio.com/instantmask

Wire Pilot/Wire Pilot Lite are designed to remove linear objects.

Wire Pilot/Wire Pilot Lite are designed to remove linear objects.

Impressive results, but is that a stand alone app, or just a plug-in? ...Or both?

Both, you get the .8bf as well as the standalone, (in the Lite version also) - you don't even have to install it.  Just extract the installer with UniExtract and start using.

Wire Pilot/Wire Pilot Lite are designed to remove linear objects.
http://www.colorpilot.com/wire.html

But if you ask if you will need both Retouch Pilot and Wire Pilot, the answer is:

Dear Curt,

Thank you for your letter.
We advise you to by only Retouch Pilot (not both these programs), because the
programs have similar algorithms. Retouch Pilot can do things that Wire Pilot
can not do. And Retouch Pilot has more abilities than Wire Pilot.

Sincerely,
Katerina Zhdanova
Two Pilots

Retouch Pilot is $40
Wire Pilot is $30

the best solution i could find so far is photoshop's quick selection tool, however I would like to:

1) make photoshop's quick selection tool to use smooth lines, not slightly dentate lines (hope you know what i mean), when we try to select fine objects, not things without smooth edges
2) be able to extend a smooth line, so that i can fix the border at the points where quick selection tool misses the correct border

is it possible?

also I would like to select specific colors, photoshops color selection tool is not that advanced (especially when it has to deal with grey tones or any similar tones)

Is the content-aware feature in the Adobe Photoshop CS5 video on Youtube (here) bogus?  If not, this would seem to be the ideal tool for that. Is it available yet?

There are auctions on Ebay and you may be able to get it for much less here.
There are also "Buy it now" listings for around $200 I believe.

If you don't need Photoshop CS5, you can get Photoshop & Adobe Elements 9 together from Adobe for $149 with $30 mail-in rebate. You can get just the Photoshop Elements 9 at eBay for $95 maybe less(see attached files). It seems that only one has content-aware fill, so be sure to consult the comparison before buying. Below are links to the sites, if you want to buy one of these.

ADOBE Photoshop Elements 9 here

Amazon.com photoshop elements 9 Software  here

NEW Photoshop Elements 9 Win Mac Adobe - eBay  here

CPSSoftware has the $15 Instant Wire Cleaner, made just for removing wires. Most of the wires in a picture are automatically highlighted with red. Paired with Easy Selection Tool – specially designed to select dark linear objects like wires with only a few clicks - this is a very easy way to do the job.

They also have InstantMask Pro, which I use for larger objects.

Has anyone already found a way for Kalos to get the  pictures they want? If so, I won't try to produce them using Inpaint.
