Petrol prices around the world

[IconBoy]

I like to know how much petrol is in different countries as I have friends and family around the world. USA does uses $/US gallon. UK does £/litre and other countries do theirs. I think it would be great to be able to input the price per litre or gallon and have an app use the currency rates available online (e.g. Yahoo or whatever) and tell you how much per litre/gallon petrol is in each country chosen and then show you which country is cheapest. You could have the app show up to three (or more I guess) countries and in Settings the user can choose which countries to show and their respective price per unit.
Do you think this is possible? Any DC coding gurus able to help a non-techy coder?
Many thanks

Here in the U.S. we are now paying $3.50/gallon    That works out to around 92 cents per liter.

Thanks for your reply.
I am still hoping there is a way to do it by choosing a few countries so I can compare them.
E.g. I have family/friends in UK/South Africa and I am in USA so would like to let them know how much we pay compared to them but let them know in their currency and their units.
Cheers

Those pages don't give you the reference amount. Are these all in gallons or liters? I know that picture is grossly outdated if they are showing $2.56/gallon in Houston.

Average gasoline prices around the world (scroll down for the table).

Bingo! We have a winner!

I guess it would suck to be a Norweigan driver.

[kartal]

Actually Turkey has the highest price. Last time I was in Istanbul it was very expensive as well.

[Rhutobello]

In Oslo or Norway the price is shown for 1 litre.
A gallon is around 9,2 $ for lowest quality...and the diesel has about the same price.

It can look horrible.... but if one start to give it a thought....maybe USA $ 3,50 gallon is more horrible seen from Nature.

We are transporting our fossil from earth to air....and even an American should know that aren't the way to survive

As long as they let the tax they put upon the use, go to Green development, then it seems the price is the only way to reduce the use, without go back to restriction on who shall be allowed to buy a "car", "aircraft", plant, and so on.

Just last week, it popped up to 1.24/litre here on the east coast of Canada.

[Darwin]

$1.28 a litre on the Wet Coast of Canada... ($1.28*3.785 = $4.85 a US gallon).

It's $3.69/gal. this morning in southern Missouri. Ugh. That's wasted money imo, but not living in a big city, I've no option.
