For what it's worth, we are going 64 bit Win7 on all of our school's Tablet PCs next fall. I'd love to see consideration for the pen's capabilities-or have access to the code to put them in myself.

Greetings markpayton
School reps are most welcome  :)

I would ask; Have you tested with the tablet pens as yet?
Other than getting Circle Dock to spin....I believe it should work just fine, as pen tablet use is little different than touch screen, and Circle Dock is currently touch screen compatible, or as far as I know it is.

Let me know

Regards

Where can I find icons?

In the help file...there is direct access to the icons and images at the Rocket Dock database.
there is also a lot at DeviantART...a general Google search will sever very well

Welcome exorotika to the Circle Dock forums  :D

Welcome to Donationcoder.com and Circle Dock's little corner  8)

Though this seems like a great idea at first...I start to find some issues...
Say you are in MS Word, and the you Left click down and drag...the problem becomes that all of a sudden you are highlighting text.
Similar issue with a desktop environment....anything you left click on you grab and move
So this could not be relegated to the left click button...Right click button is Context menu stuff

A bit of an impasse  :-[

 ::) I do not know  :-[

I can honestly say this:
Of the three mentioned; Circle Dock is the only one with any forward movement or advancement.
Circle Dock is, as far as I know, the only actively developed program, and the only one in both 32 and 64 bit availability.

I am unsure as to how these factors may weigh in??

I am unsure of last years statistics, as I only recently gained access to the Wikidot home page in the last 90 days or so, so any previous records is restricted to me from that time period.
Could have been an article at a major review site, or lord knows what!?!!

Currently the Wikidot pages are under going some major construction for very recent numbers are scewed.

I can say that the numbers presented by the page in question do not in any way match the Google Analytics, but if you the in account the redirects, time on site, and length of time teh page has existsed...the numbers do start to come together.

We still average well over 2000+ visitors a day to the home page, and well over 80% new visitors per day.....that is about what I know for certain.

I was floored, as the price has increased almost 230% in the last 90 days.
this may not mean much, but let's go this way.
Rainmeter is only worth about $52,000.00 USD

Yes!  Thank you... it was the settings in the individual dock items that were causing this, as show in your screenshot above.  Thanks for the help.    :)

No problem

have fun

Greetings to both of you:
varric & Drybonz
Welcome to Donationcoder.com and Circle Dock's little corner

What is happening, by Default:
When you create a new link in Circle Dock the link automatically get set to "Hide Dock on opening Files and Folders"

Screenshot - 4_1_2010 , 11_05_58 AM.jpg

There is a second possibility to check:
In the Settings; Check to make certain that that the following is not checked.

Screenshot - 4_1_2010 , 11_10_01 AM.jpg

Either one of these will cause Circle Dock to disappear after anything is click in Circle Dock

Hope this answers the question; If not let me know, and we will explore if there is anything I am missing

do someone seen before the game's logo chosen circle in BLACK and WHITE 1 by Lionhead Studios? The smooth grow effect from center of the circle is unforgettable.

Welcome to the Circle Dock Forums at Donationcoder.com  8)

Yes the code is in C# (C-Sharp)

Because we found so many instances of people charging for VIP's code, with little or no modification, all approvals for code release go through Markham....
Please understand this is a 2 fold purpose.
1.) To protect Eric Wong's Legacy
2.) Markham has made so many changes to teh original code, that little of Eric Wong's original code remains in what is now Circle Dock.

I understand your suggestion, and I find it to be an agree-able one, especially with the latest touch screen advancements, and the fact that many folks are investing in touch screen or buying all-in-one systems with TS.

Ultimately I leave the decision to Markham at this time

I'm hot on it!!!

I have been dickering around for several hours now...All of the previously discussed issues remain. I am thinking we are stuck with the issues in Windows 7, since we can not identify what exactly the change in the code is.
The other alternatives are obvious, but not CD Centric, which is not what we want, but what we may have at the moment.

I do not make this offer lightly, but I could always attempt to contact the programmer of XmouseButtons (???), and see if there is something he is aware of that we are missing.

We could release with a disclaimer concerning certain Mouse types and third-party software or Massive-Multi-Button Mouse.
So far the only guaranteed thing I have done to get my mouse working is to assign hotkey functionality to a spare or rarely used button

I know your frustration...I have been right there with you almost every step, but intil we ban find out teh missing equation, I believe us to be at an impasse  :(

Thanks for the information. BTW, I use this other thing for bookmarks on my Mac: Circles . Do you think flash could be a workaround?

I myself have seriously considered this, but knowing what I know and understand of the Circle Dock code.....I fear that any flash based replication would be so bloated that only a small percentage of computer on the marker would be able to use it properly, at least at this time.
Of course I am speaking of use of IBM/Windows OS based system....I am unaware of how MAC handles Flash, but I hear that MACs do not handle flash well at all.
My information could be wrong concerning MACs

Now; this is not to say that if someone wanted to try and program a Flash Based version that we would hinder them in any way....In fact I would support them in any way I could

241
Is it because there is no SetPoint tools available for your mouse, or SetPoint did not correct the issue???
You had mentioned your mouse is "Older" (???)

242
Also, as defined here ( https://www.donation....msg197660#msg197660 ), I have utilized setpoint tools , by Logitech, to compensate....I have been working flawlessly since. I am also on a Windows 7 64bit system

I was wondering if "X-mouse Button Control" would produce similar results.
Thanks for the confirmation

It's possible to have "keep in memory" option to speed up transition between folders where there are many icon?
Thanks

Beyond resources, and this could be an option in the settings, we have noticed that this creates for an additional issue in Vista and Seven.
Sometimes what is saved in memory is not displaced when you close teh program.
So anything in memory , stays in memory after the program is closed....we have seen instances of this in Standalone Stacks 2, but we have also seen issue in Rainmeter Alpha builds, so we have dropped this option.

Again, this could be made an option, selective for those folks who have a tone of memory
But I leave that to programmers discretion

There is a couple of ways to speed Icon load:
1.) Place Icons in the core folder
2.) reduce Icon size.
I find that many icons are 150 to 250 px in size, if this is reduced to say 100 or 90 px, then Circle Dock does not have to work as hard to re-size and load the icon images.
Additionally: If the Icons are in the core directory, then Circle Dock does not have to search in adjacent folders in your system, and will load icons faster as a consequence.

-Archon of Fate (March 14, 2010, 12:42 PM)

Cheer up friend, a lot of your suggestions, ideas, and concepts have been great.....do not let one idea shot down stop you  :-*

245
You can take any shots you find may be appealing.

Anything, appropriate, goes

These are your shots

I guess I could ask for general info.
example:
Name of programs we see
Name of Desktop background if any
And I will be utilizing DC Screen names for the labeling on teh donated images, unless other wise specified, as I have done in the home page gallery

I have started showing Circle Dock with third party programs in them, but make it clear what the viewer is seeing.
So sure, as you desire

246
These are great

Do not worry about size....If i need to crop them...I can get that myself.  ;)

Thanks so much  :D

Greetings folks

I have discovered that I am lazier than I thought  :P

I will be somewhat unavailable over the next few days, I will be drugged out of my mind and in bed attempting to get beyond this damaged back muscle group, but felt that this would be an excellent opportunity to ask the community for assistance.  :D

I am looking to replace many images at the Circle Dock Home Page, and I have already added a few, but would like to include a wider diversity.
Essentially: I want your screen shots of Circle Dock, and a few full desktop shots wouldn't hurt either.

If you folks would be willing to post your Circle Dock screen shots, I would be greatly appreciative.
What I am looking for is a diversity of sizes Backgrounds and program run settings. Not just Circles, but Ellipse too, if you have this set up.
These images do not necessarily need to be a clutter free desktop, as many of us use our desktops, but can be shown over running programs as well, Like Firefox, Word, FileZilla, I do not care.
I am looking for everyday screen shots, and the the clean shots as well  :-*

If you are willing to share, be aware that I may utilize your volunteered shots for the Home Page, but for advertising Circle Dock as well.
If you need reference, you are welcome to go over the Home Page to see what I have, and make a determination of what I need, I do know that I am sorely missing Practical applications shots (ie. Circle dock over a running program)
So if you post your shots here, you are essentially agreeing to allow me to utilize the posted shots in any way I see fit, and there may be no recognition, other than what I post to the Home Page, or can squeeze a user name in on a post  :P

If you feel you have a shot that expresses exactly what Circle Dock is to you, to a business, or to a solid all around user, let me have those screen shots.

The home page is here of course:
http://circledock.wikidot.com/start

Help me fill in images that I am missing so I can fill the Home Page and posts to  other sites with fresh, up to date, and insightful images  :tellme:

Thanks in advance
The Sarge

Welcome to donationcoder.com and Circle Dock's little corner  :)

I am upgrading from 1.5.4.6, running on Win7 x86, and the files in my ...\AppData\Local\CircleDock directory are DockItemData.xml and Config.xml. No DockSettings.xml file...?

You are correct in this.
Those are the files that you will need to backup/copy

Apologies for any confusion  8)
