N.A.N.Y. 2011 / Re: NANY 2011 :: Announcement
« on: May 13, 2010, 12:47 PM »
I will do what I can.

That being said; My skills lay in Beta testing Advertising and Media Exposure, above all others.

So to start; Do you folks mind if I use the Announcement Post, slightly modified as a press release?
The extra time on this annual project will allow me time to capitalize on it's significance  ;)

It may not yield at first, but I will also post to Rainmeter immediately.

Give me time, and I may be able to utilize this as a push for the DC community and get better recognition of who we are and what we do

What say you???

So, you think that we're entering a plum age?

Living Room / Re: Farewell to Frank Frazetta 1928-2010
« on: May 12, 2010, 11:28 AM »
Heh.   People say that Bakshi's seminal fantasy work is Wizards.  Or they point to the Lord of the Rings.  But Fire & Ice will always be it for me... the combination of Bakshi and Frazetta was unbeatable!

Indeed....a seminal point was peaked in the creation here...that not even Heavy Metal could compare to properly.
I had always hoped that and additional work would have been done, but it never happened :(

as far as Windows 7 is concerned we cannot be birds of a feather. I am still hooked on XP.
-atrkaye

:) A lot of us still run XP.
My guess is that the title alludes to the fact that mouser updated a group of his own programs at the same time.

-cranioscopical (May 10, 2010, 08:45 AM)

I loved Windows XP Pro and Windows 2000, from a personal and professional aspect, but I have lived long enough to see the death of 8 bit and 16 bit. the death of 32 bit is just the signal of 64 bit; The next step in tech evolution.
Do not mourn the loss of great software, celebrate the possibilities to come  8)

As we all move forward in technology, so to do we all learn and expand....even those that still use XP. They watch, grow, and learn in what is happening today....in this; we are all birds a a feather, we update "together" whether we know if or not  ;)

Fire & Ice.  The life wasn't given to that movie by the animators, but by Frazetta's characters and works.

I was wondering if anyone would remember this movie....
You have restored my faith friend ;)

Via Con Dios mi Amigo

It is a sad day in the art community as this Artist single handed-ly brought Fantasy Art work into teh prime of teh Artistic communities, and made Fantasy Art a viable and accepted part of the artistic communities.

"I will celebrate his life, where some many have mourned his death, may his life be remembered and not his passing"

You also have the option to Password and lock down your Circle Dock.
In Dock Settings> General> Kiosk Mode

Add a password, and lock yourself down, draw back, to access or change anything, must unlock Circle Dock.

Just an option to consider

Living Room / BakaBT under DDoS Attack
« on: May 06, 2010, 05:53 PM »
I would not normally post such a thing, except that I have been watching and monitoring this for several weeks now.
I know this to be a legitimate attack based on the damaged ego of one individual.

This attack has brought a community, I am close to, down; BakaBT
There has been a whole list of B.S and demand made by a singularly band individual at this community, and this individual has followed through.

a request and information has gone out here:
http://storiesofthenewage.blogspot.com/2010/05/hello-bakabt-community-and-people-of.html

This may seem irrelevant to Donationcoder and our great community here and BakaBT is a Bittorrent sharing site, but a legitimate one, if not one of the very few legitimate!!!

The big worry I have is two fold:
1.) The full impact of the DDoS attack on BakaBT
2.) the what if factor.
I say "What if" in a manner of; What if this were to happen here!!!

I am sure I am going to rile some folks on this, but it is upsetting me so much that I had to post.
As usual I am certain that I am setting myself up for the fall, but I have to implore on the good nature of Donationcoder community again.

help if you can

Thanks in advance

Greetings 8bit
Welcome to Donationcoder.com and Circle Docks little part of it all  :D

No morons here, we all started somewhere, including you; so no getting down on yourself or others ;)

To get your dock to remain in one area;
  • Right click on center Button of Circle Dock, and click on "Dock Settings"
  • When settings opens; go to: General> Location
  • On the lower left hand side you will see; "Lock Dock to Current Location"
  • Place your dock where you want it.
  • Make sure that your "Z-Level" is at least set to "Normal" or you may get stuck with Circle Dock "On Top"
  • Once you have Circle Dock where you want it; check the box next to "Lock Dock to Current Location"
Screenshot - 5_4_2010 , 8_23_17 PM.jpg

This should lock the dock in place when you reboot your system.

If for some reason this fails, please advise us immediately and we will take a deeply look into the issue  :tellme:

Let us know and Have Fun  ;D

Regards
The Sarge

Not that I am immediately aware of...let me load Emerge on my system again...it has been a while, and do some testing...I will get back to you on this as soon as I can

Circle Dock / Re: Auto-Rotate
« on: April 28, 2010, 04:54 PM »
A spinning dock would be a great addition to the 2010 version of circle dock, in my opinion.
I just don't know how to code. :/

That's cool..neither do I, so we will let Markham get in on this....

I think it would also be nice to control the "Slowness" of the rotation speed when the mouse is away...do not need anything blinding fast or distracting ;)

There is a good possibility that Emerge Shell is interfering :(
Is it possible for you to check utilizing the windows shell?

also; ARe you using .net framework 2 or 3.5?

Greetings RusBig
Welcome to Donationcoder.com and Circle Docks little corner.

Can I trouble you for more information about the system you are using?

I need to know the Operating system, Computer model and manufacturer, also, if you know, what version of Circle Dock you are using???

Let us know, and we will see if we can get you up and running

Greetings XdragonSB  :)
Welcome to Donationcoder and Circle Docks little portion of it.

There is actually no setting for what you suggest, although does sound interesting
I can see making such an option available, but I would point out that a continuously spinning Circle Dock will run up system utilization. Something to keep in mind.

Knowing this; do you think it would be a good option???
An elective setting that will spin the dock, while teh mouse is away from the dock???

Let us know  :tellme:

Try clicking the right-mouse button on the Centre Button, Sarge! That's where the new options are (as well as in main settings). :greenclp:

   :-*

225
Ummm... Sarge, I know you put a lot of work into this but hiding Desktop Icons is, in fact, a new feature in v1.56 and works in a very similar way to the "Hide Taskbar" functionality. In other words, you can set the defaults in the main settings dialog but have the option of toggling on/off using the Centre Button's context menu.

I have to say that this new feature nearly didn't make it. I've had it working for XP and Vista for some time but it wouldn't work under Windows 7 so I had to come up with a new method for that OS (which also, incidentally, works for Vista too but not XP).

I may also add the ability to toggle the Sidebar gadgets on/off as well - of course that won't apply for XP.

Mark

Oooh.....
To hide the icons with a working interface that is not a 5 year old program
Ultimately I would suggest adding the functionality as a "Special" Option. I utilize the center Button for the Windows Menu, and would despise having to choose between option.
What are your thoughts???
