Noah is almost fantastic, but what is it?

new_pa1.jpg
I would like to tell you a lot about this new program I've downloaded today, but my English vocabulary is very tiny, especially when it comes to describing such a 'new' kind of program. Noah is a PIM and an email client and a email client's manager and a Internet browser and a bookmark manager and a RSS reader and a organizer and.. - so I don't really know what to call it - I mean, Noah is almost fantastic, but what is it?

Coding Snack: MIDI data and screensaver

blog clipart
Does anyone know of a way (or program) to make MIDI data stop the windows screensaver or power saving mode, switch the power "profile" or anything similar?

I.E., if the screensaver is running and I tap a few notes on my (piano) keyboard, the screensaver should shut off, and if I'm playing a song, the screensaver should not start.

The problem is that if I'm playing music on-screen with my MIDI keyboard, the screensaver may turn on, so I have to move a hand from the MIDI keyboard to the computer keyboard or mouse.

I'd like to do this without disabling the screensaver, so that after 10 minutes of MIDI (or mouse or keyboard) inactivity, the screensaver comes on as usual.

I am running MIDI-OX (http://www.midiox.com/) all the time, which routes my keyboard to an external sound module.

Thanks, and great forum. I'm a long-time lurker.
Eric

Mikogo Mac Version now available for free online meetings

blog clipart
Hi,
Just letting everyone know about our new Mac version of the Mikogo software. Last year there was a long thread on Mikogo and its features, which I also participated in and answered some questions: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=12956.0

With Mikogo, both PC and Mac users have a quick solution to start a meeting and invite both PC and Mac users to view their screen in real-time over the Web. Very easy-to-use, cross-platform free online meeting tool.

For details on getting started on the Mac version, drop by our website: http://www.mikogo.com/mac/
The official press release about the Mikogo Mac software release is available here: http://www.mikogo-bl...ne-meeting-software/

Now that the Mac version is out, I'd be happy to hear back from the DonationCoder community and answer any questions that you may have about Mikogo's new cross-platform capability.

Cheers!

I love Mikogo for Windows - anyone using a Mac should give this a try and tell us what you think of the new version.

I particularly like the idea that you can interoperate between Windows and Mac systems.

Thanks Steffen for a great product.

TreeSheets - an interesting and innovative note taker (freeware)

screenshot_todo.png
Caught this one on the mind-mapping blog: TreeSheets - fast, visual organisation for notes.

Its homepage is here: http://treesheets.com/.

It has a very unusual approach, and its interface might take some getting used to (its unorthodox use of mouse wheel, e.g.), but having tried it for the last two days, I have to admit it's very addictive. The first time you launch it after installation, a short tutorial (sample) document is open. Follow along and you'll be amazed at what it can do. (And if you're not impressed, or don't like its approach, it's pretty safe to uninstall it right away, for you've seen all it can do.)

Warning: it's a very young product, so don't expect it to do everything your favorite note taker can do.

Re: Firefox Extensions: Your favorite or most useful - Extended Copy Menu

Screenshot - 3_23_2009 , 4_16_40 PM_thumb.png
Extended Copy Menu has been mentioned by a few people here.  As I found use for it today i just wanted to plug it.

The use i had was i wanted to be able to select a section of a web page and copy it as html -- with the href links and other html codes still in it.  In essence this is like viewing the source and copying the relevant section of the source code -- just makes it a little easier.

Provides the option to copy selection as plain text or html.
It adds a "Copy As Html" and "Copy As Plain Text" to the context (right-click) menu. It is useful if you want to copy the text or underlying html from a web page into documents, posts or other applications.
