Just one quibble (I think!) Carl, the discount for SFFS above is still showing as 50% whereas I *believe* it actually to be 30%. Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to Carl and the respective software authors for making the give away AND the discounts possible. As always, thanks to mouser for this incredible site.

EDIT: can't stand split infinitives  :-[ OK, so it dates me a bit, but years of schooling cannot be undone... BTW, love the following quote on the subject from Raymond Chandler, who was complaining to the editor of The Atlantic Monthly about a proofreader (from wikipedia):

"By the way, would you convey my compliments to the purist who reads your proofs and tell him or her that I write in a sort of broken-down patois which is something like the way a Swiss-waiter talks, and that when I split an infinitive, God damn it, I split it so it will remain split, and when I interrupt the velvety smoothness of my more or less literate syntax with a few sudden words of barroom vernacular, this is done with the eyes wide open and the mind relaxed and attentive. The method may not be perfect, but it is all I have."

A special thanks to carl who took over every step of the donation process this month, from contacting companies, to updating dc web pages, to running the prize simulator, posting results, and even updating every past discount post to reflect current status.  It's a lot of work and he deserves a big round of applause.

I'm delighted to be a recipient of Super Flexible File Synchronizer Professional.
At the moment I can't synchronize my left brain with my right, let alone a whole bunch of files.
SFFS to the rescue with the latter.  I'll post a coding-snack request for the former!

:D Wow, I just read mail about the winned SFFS license.  I am so thankful to all who made this possible, in particular the DonationCoder team and also SFFS developer.    You couldn't find anything more appropriate to lift up my spirit, after a difficult week (hospital, minor surgery, everything fixed now!).  It will help for a quicker recovery, no doubt...

Thanks again !

First time I applied and first time I won. And with only a day in between! Wow!
Thanks a lot, DC, for this great feature.

---

English is by far not my first language, so I had to look up what the heck Darwin (and Raymond Chandler) was/were talking about; "Split infinitives":

  Merriam-Webster Collegiate® Dictionary

split infinitive

Function:           noun
Date:               1897

: an infinitive with to having a modifier between the to and the verbal (as in “to really start”)
usage The split infinitive was discovered and named in the 19th century. 19th century writers seem to have made greater use of this construction than earlier writers; the frequency of occurrence attracted the disapproving attention of grammarians, many of whom thought it to be a modern corruption. The construction had in fact been in occasional use since the 14th century; only its frequency had changed. Even though there has never been a rational basis for objecting to the split infinitive, the subject has become a fixture of folk belief about grammar. You can hardly publish a sentence containing one without hearing about it from somebody. Modern commentators know the split infinitive is not a vice, but they are loath to drop such a popular subject. They usually say it's all right to split an infinitive in the interest of clarity. Since clarity is the usual reason for splitting, this advice means merely that you can split them whenever you need to.

- quote: "The construction had in fact been in occasional use since the 14th century.."

... can't stand split infinitives  :-[ OK, so it dates me a bit, but years of schooling cannot be undone...

I would say it dates you quite a bit...   :P

I am impressed.
This is the first ever time that I participated in the draw and got a free license. WOW. My good day.

I am not a coder - for that matter dont have much to do with compuer and software. So, unable to contribute anything technical in this forum!

Just like playing around with and using software that makes usage easy and more productive!

Well, as a way of thanking, donated some funds to DC today.

Thanks guys!

Hi there ganrad, i'm no coder either, i tinker and break things as a user tho lol, i dont know about the other people here who are users only, but it seems to me a users perspective on a program is really important.  A program may have the most elegant code and use no resources, and have a 1001 uses and all that, but whats the point if people like you and i dont like it and cant use it?

Congratulations on your win too
