Alternatives 7stacks for w10home

I was using 7 stacks under windows 8.1.
But now don't go under windows 10 home.

A good alternative ?

Well, it's not exactly the same, but you could have a look at 7+ Taskbar Tweaker

7 Stacks was last updated in 2011, so I have my doubts it will ever be updated again...

it's not the same at all. don't like it.
Is only a jump list from the icons task bar.
Perhaps with jump list from the task bar will be better.
I use some years ago jump list form the icon tray zone.
How can I create jump list in the task bar from a folder ?

But the concept of jump list seems to be in relation to a program or executable or .lnk , not a folder and the programs in it like in 7stacks.

 

I have modify the windows registry and add a new key to add more folders to be pinned under windows explorer

What about the standard Win10 toolbars?
Right-click on the taskbar, open Toolbars and select Desktop (like I did), or add a new toolbar, pointing to a folder where you create links to your files/applications as desired. Multiple toolbars can be defined.

The advantage of TrueLaunchBar (shareware) is that the menu pops out on mouse-hover, where the Windows toolbars need a mouse-click to open.

There are other advantages to TrueLaunchBar other than that, but yes, you could just use the windows feature.  If free is what you're looking for, they offer an older version of TrueLaunchBar as FreeLaunchBar for (predictably) Free!  http://forum.tordex.com/thread-3321.html

I used to use Bins, but I stopped for some reason that I can't remember right now.  There was some advantage of TLB- I think because of widgets that TLB provides.

I am using toolbars . At the present moment IrA is the name. In the past I used three toolbars. 7stacks put the jump list in the place you select. The toolbar goes at the sides.

It's a 14 days trial.
Don't use folders, only icons to be dropped.
May serve but I prefer a freeware and folder oriented like 7stacks.

It's an extension of your taskbar.  Right click your taskbar and select toolbars, then there should be an entry- not sure if it will say truelaunchbar or not.  Show that bar, then right click on it to get to the options.  For more than that, go to the TLB site.

What I need is a substitute for 7stacks.

7stacks have this philosophy or working principles :

Works like a windows toolbar in the task bar. Really open a folder and let us see the content : icons to launch programs, other folders includes, any file....

Additionally you select an icon to represent the toolbar or selected folder.

Additionally you can insert the icon whenever you need.

So :
A windows toolbar open a folder and we are able to launch any option inside.

7stacks assign an icon to the toolbar you can insert in any place in the task bar. Changes the way a basic windows toolbar shows the option. With 7stacks you see the icons assigned to the program or file to be launch or open.

menuApp is flexible

Using menuApp you can display a menu from a shortcut...

...or via hotkeys.

...or by double-clicking on the desktop.

...or by clicking on the system tray icon.

I suppose if double clicking on the desktop then I can fix in the task bar that icon.

I gonna try now.
 

uFF. tOO difficult for me.

If very configurable and assumed all can be done. But the learning curve..... 

Note : I have problems with windows defender and the installer, so I disable the antivirus for installing.

P.D. I began to fight with the program with no need by my ignorance. Now I will try to follow the instructions.

Second condition drag to the task bar and insert. We can put in any place of the taskbar ----- acomplish

pending : change the icon to the shortcut created. See the content with icons instead of like you see in the image above.

P.D. For me the important thing is have the opportunity now of creating a new shortcut to a folder and put in the task bar. trying.

I don't understand why but I can see one icon from iWriter.


What's pending now :

For me is enough if a I can launch the folders from an icon in the task bar. At the present moment is the same icon. The icon from the original program Stacky.

I suppose this is easy to change with an utility.

At the present moment when you maintain the mouse cursor over the icon the correct legend appear.

I try also with a bat, but I think is better with the program. With 7stacks i was using icon with the initial letter of the folder to see......


Do you know a freeware to change easily the icon to a exe file ?

By some reason some icons are recognised and others no .
See, by example, vlc player recognised, but screenshot captor no.

Stacky in my system is going well. Is fast and don't hang up. So I think i can configure the rest of elements.

For me is not easy to see how to change the icon .
Or even respect the original icon changing the color or overtype letters on it.

But I know from the past that this icon is changeable.

The best thing would be not to change the original executable icon, only in the shortcuts personalized by folder. Like 7stacks did.

I think is not possible to change the icon . Perhaps with a bat converted to exe.
