Finished the first go :-) Once I hear back on the questions I'll post the DL link. As it is, it only renames 1 file or folder at a time, it just renames the folder an no files under it. I think that is what you were after but not sure.

Couple questions...

1) I don't know Autohotkey but I can make it in another language called Visual Dialogscript. LMK if you are OK with that.
2) When drag/drop a folder, is it to just rename the folder or all the files in the folder?

I use ProtonMail, it's a great service and will continue to do so. I agree that they didn't do anything wrong.

Hey Vic. Just wanted to check in on the progress :)

My pleasure! :)

As for a name, Something random and off the wall I was thinking is: Cherry Turtle. But since you are coding it, it's up to you.  :D

Not sure if this will help, but it lists all the active global hotkeys.

Thank you @publicdomain, that would be great! And no rush, .NET/C# will work nicely

@C.

Ath is right. I can do it cross-platform in either Node/Javascript or .NET/C# (your call).

Do bear in mind I’m doing “regular” work this week along with finishing several Public Domain proggies. If you aren’t in a rush, I’m totally in to assist! :)

The only language I really know is Visual Dialogscript, not a well known language. I'm afraid my brain is not as young as it used to be and learning another language is not really an option. I did try learning and using Autohotkey, but again not luck.

12
I have been trying to make one myself w/o any luck. I can use the API ok, but parsing json is kicking my butt. What I would like is a command-line app to access all of the telegra.ph functions available in the API here https://telegra.ph/api

Thank you!

[EDIT]

To make even more simple would be a way to create an account, post and edit pages. All the other things would be nice, but not needed.

N.A.N.Y. 2021 / Re: One-Time Grid
« on: January 18, 2021, 10:32 AM »
Hey Tom,

Yes, it's to help create a random password and to have a hard copy. Yes, I draw a line from the beginning to the end. I usually use a dot at the beginning of the line and an X at the end. Yes, I try to keep is simple but it depends on how string I want the password and the password requirements of the site.

Hope that helps!

How I use it: Every time I need a new password I grab a sheet (I printed some out front and back of a page and each has 6 grids on it) and circle the group of character that I want to use as the password, like a word search puzzle, (making sure to follow that site's guidelines for passwords) and then indicate the start and end. It may sound like a pain, but it's not (at least I don't think so). I write the description/website at the top along with the username. I have also included a random string and a pin that can be use as a suffix/prefix to the password.
hi Chris,
trying to figure out if I understand this correctly:

is the main point of this:
1) having help to create a random password ?
2) having a hard copy that you can store (e.g. in your safe) ?

unimportant:
you say that you "indicate the start and end" -
3) do you draw a line from start square to finish square through each character in sequence (I of course initially chose the most complex line possible, but this doesnt make the password any better...)
4) do you keep that line relatively simple :-) ?

Oh man, sorry to hear that.  :( Hope things work out.

It's still happening.  My daughter and her boyfriend might have it right now... both are really sick and quarantining.  My son might also have it from a different vector at work.  Thankfully, in both cases, they're covered by their jobs.  We're not through this by a long shot.

Ah Yeah. The virus happened in 2020 so I guess that's what threw me off.... LOL

Shouldn't that say 2020?

No... the New Year is 2021 :)

It is written in VisualDialog Script. http://dialogscript.com

-=BUMP=-

I am wondering how I can recompile the source code. I like using this program but the videos folder is created in the root {\} of the drive. Where as the pictures, music, documents folders are created in side the Documents folder. It would take about 2 seconds to fix the bug, but I don't know how to recompile it with. Any help?

Post New Requests Here / Re: Request - file path collector program
« on: December 03, 2020, 09:46 AM »

Nice work. Like the icon, program name, always on top feature, and that the default write file is displayed. Works with a shortcut too.  :)

Very useful as it is. Some additional features you may want to consider would be:
  • visual feedback that the path was copied (e.g., filename, not full path is displayed briefly or just a indication that file/dir was copied)
  • drag and drop the write file in addition to browsing to it
  • button to open the write file in the default text editor
  • display the number of entries in the current write file
  • clear the current write file
  • ability to change the write file name in the Save File bar
  • resize window and save position

Thanks! I should be able to add those, but it'll a day or so. I just threw that first version together quickly this morning before work.  8)

Here ya go. Just run the tpc.exe. An always ontop window will show. Browse to the file you want to use to save the paths. If the file doesn't exist, it'll be created then just drag and drop files or folders onto the dialog.

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Battery indicator in Window Titles
« on: November 11, 2020, 02:08 PM »
Progress update: I have it mostly working. The issue I am facing is that I am using the window CLASS for identification. If the title text changes from a different outside source (i.e. path change on an explorer window) the text will revert back to the initial text. Here is a short gif showing what I mean - https://a.cl.ly/o0umnx1m
