I just reinstalled ObjectDock Plus after finally figuring out the email address I used to register it, so here is my mostly empty desktop.

I'm fairly boring. Stardock Fence Beta and a 3rd party theme I think is called Aurum.

It usually looks empty like this:

Toggling fences and opening menus shows this:

edesk.jpgWhats on your desktop?

Dunno, I like it. :)

Here's my desktop - I have a 15.4" notebook and a 19" secondary monitor running:

Desktop 9-6-2009 9-39-58 AM-large.pngWhats on your desktop?

I'm still loathe to use icons directly on the desktop (silly, really) as I rely instead on TrueLaunchBar...

Giveawayoftheday has begun to include Software Informer in their containers. You may know the program; I am not going to tell about it here. But I ran the program, and later on I clicked its floating icon. Immediately this picture displayed itself ALL over my desktop:

1024x1496 pixels, 668KB:

SoftwareInformer.GIFWhats on your desktop?

The huge pop-up will show AT ONCE, making it faster to use than many other application launchers. But the program is still very new..., and I don't think this scary sight should be the look of my desktop at any time. Maybe it is something for App103 ?  :P

Edited: The pop-up will also disappear at once  when you click it.

Nice view, *Cat. Was it taken from your hammock?   8)

There is very little reason for me to show you my desktop; it is nothing but a photo, gaining 15 minutes of fame, and I have no icons or gadgets displaying. So, make your guesses, here is my taskbar!

Here's an update of mine. I'm trying to learn GTD and this wallpaper helps. Using Tinyresmeter for the gadget at the bottom of the screen and Tclock lite for the extended clock. No start button needed, I just use FARR for all my launching needs.

Left half is full of shortcuts (70).  Right half is a B/W pic of Jennifer Aniston.

Damn fine fascination you got there! :) What's the bike on the wallpaper...it looks (to me) to be Italian but I could be (and probably am) wrong.

I would have guessed the bike was a Vincent HRD Series. Then again I don't know my bikes that well. My English teacher is a proud collector of bikes manufactured between 1910-1930 (or thereabout). He also restores them in his free times and several newspaper articles have been written about him. On the day the school is open for anybody to see what professions you can study for, he would always put one of his collection there and would ride it for a bit as well.

These bikes don't have the performance of modern bikes (I don't mean they are slow), but sure make up for it with style.

Suddenly upon an urge this week ... nothing!

More specfically, toggling hide-show icons. When I am "working" (even if just life stuff) I have a visual icon grid system that interacts with my note taking systems. But suddenly I became overwhelmed at all the loose ends and just wanted to take a break! My visual reflexes respond too fast to the various concept threads! So I just "whooshed them away" (though I left a Sticky way in the corner so I wouldn't freak out the next day after sleep! )

yeah, I know; clearly  no dates  recently or tonight...

Right now there's a half a cup of coffee (Gevalia) and a laptop (about to be closed) on it. It is Saturday after all. ;)
