Thumbnail Panel shows Screenshots in chronological order
« on: October 01, 2014, 07:57 PM »
In older versions, the Thumbnail Panel on the left would show all your screenshots in chronological order.
What do I do in version 4.8.5 to get the Thumbnail Panel to show these?

<<View menu, SortBy submenu.>>
That has no effect on the Thumbnails Pane. I need to know how to make thumbnails appear in the Thumbnails pane.
Perhaps then I can use View > Sort By to choose what order the thumbnails appear in.

your thumbnails aren't showing at all?!?!
But you have the thumbnail panel itself visible?
Can you take a screenshot of the SC window itself and post it please.

Here's what shows:

Double clicking the folders produces nothing.
BTW, can the Thumbnails Panel show all screenshots, regardless of what folder I've put them in? That would be ideal.
Thanks!

It only shows screenshots in the current folder, not subfolders.
Double clicking on a subfolder should change into it -- it's not?

Are you sure there is content in the folders you are looking at?
(as mouser says, when looking in a folder, it wont show content in it's subfolders)

OK, I've successfully got the thumbnails to show as desired in the Thumbnail Pane
What's weird is that I've set C:\Program Files (x86)\ScreenshotCaptor\Screenshots as "Where to save Screenshot Files"

and yet images are still being saved to where they used to be

Just occurred to me to reboot, if I don't report back that means rebooting had no effect.

Looks like all I had to do in the first place was choose my \Screenshots directory in the Save In box at the top of the Save Image As window, and ScreenshotCaptor would have remembered it.  :P

^ that sounds like a bug -
although I'm suprised you're able to save anything in the Programs folder -
is that not usually blocked by the OS? (What's your OS?)

You should not try saving in the C:\Program Files (x86)\.. directory or any subdirectories, unless you are still on Windows XP.
Instead, you need to save in a place where programs are allowed to save (like in your MyDocuments area).
Windows does weird things with virtual directories if you try to save where you aren't supposed to, and that could definitely be causing the problem.
