Screenshot Captor / Re: Add Border To Screenshot Is Not Working
« on: May 07, 2018, 10:23 AM »
Okey-doke, I think I've got it now
I've chosen PopUp Choice Dialog with the nice empty name box and the captures have the border I've defined . . it's just that in the PopUp Choice image window the border doesn't show, I think that may be what was confusing me .. but the border's there in the final saved image.

Thanks so much for your help, Mouser, I use SC many times every day (I sent you some bucks years ago when I first downloaded it!)

I've taken careful notes of this exchange, and saved the URL, so I won't have to bother you again . . hopefully! :o

Hi Mouser ~
Sorry to be such a pain about this, but I just can't seem to get it back to my old setting where:
SHFT-PrntScreen > drag area  would bring up a simple window (not the whole SC window) showing the capture with a border,  with the Name box empty so all I'd have to do was enter a name and hit <Enter> and I'd have a saved image with border.

Now somehow I've got it to where when I capture, the whole ScreenShotCaptor window opens and the Name box has a long name in it which I must delete before naming, which is a real bother.

How can I get a border and, when captured, the simple window with empty Name box?

I know I've asked you about this at least three times before and I appreciate your patience.

Once again, Edit > Preferences > Post-Capture Options > Add Border to Image  plus  > Special Effects Options > Border Color, Width, and Default Border Type  fails to add a border to captured images.
What's the fix for this?

Thanks, mouser ~
Since my "Quick Bar and Post Cap" choices were different from your image, I was spurred to download/install the latest version . .
. . followed your instructions . . Presto Change-O!! ça marche, as the French say.

Screenshot Captor / Close SC Window After Naming Captured Image
« on: March 07, 2018, 12:29 PM »
I've got SC set up so that when I make a capture the cursor is in the "Override filename" field and all I have to do is type in a name and hit <Enter>.
But then the SC window opens.
How can I cause the SC window to not open after I've named the file?
Thanks!

« on: January 19, 2018, 12:38 PM »
I've inadvertently changed some Preference item so that when I make a capture it gets named "Screenshot - 1_19_2018 , 1_30_20 PM"
It used to be that the name was 0, (or 02 if there was already an "0" file in the Save directory).
How can I get back the numbered name, no date or time?

Hi Ath ~
I might make two to three dozen screenshots per day, then on another day only a couple of individual shots.
I've just closed SSC and re-run it, and still no border  :(

Sorry, Ath, I don't understand your question. I frequently make many screenshots every day, I don't recall what day it was the borders stopped working.
Maybe I'll try re-installing.

Once again the same problem has recurred — no border — even though I have:
Special Effect Options: Quick Borders > blue > width 3 > simple outside
and
The Basics > Interface Options > Show Main Form

Weird  :o

Screenshot Captor / Special Effect Options - Border - Not Taking Effect
« on: September 02, 2017, 04:22 PM »
For a border around all my screenshots I have always done this

but now I've set up Special Effect Options like that and I'm not getting a border

What am I doing wrong? :-[

Thanks, Mouser ~
What I didn't tell you is that Screenshot Captor is the utility I use more than any other, there's not a day goes by that I don't use it at least 3 or 4 times, and not uncommonly 10 or 15.

Aha!
I had "PopUp Choice Dialog" selected, but I've changed it to:

Thanks so much for your patience, much appreciated!

I've checked "Add border to image" and clicked Apply and Accept, but screenshot images aren't getting a border  :o

Hi mouser ~
I just re-installed, that fixed the problem

19
I have SC v 4.16.1
It used to be that when I'd take a screenshot and open the SC window, the shot I just took would be at the bottom of the left pane's list of thumbnails, with the next most recent just above it, and the next etc.
Now I don't see it at all.
How can I get back that functionality?
I've looked at Edit > Preferences, but I can't find how to set my saved folder so it appears in the left pane.

20
Thank you, mouser
Should I do something to mark this thread "Solved"?

Screenshot Captor / Disable Win Explorer Window on Save - SOLVED
« on: June 27, 2016, 08:28 AM »
Boy, this is strange!
I just captured several images successively with Screenshot Captor > named them > hit Save > Win Explorer window came up showing the directory the image is stored in
Then I went to write this forum topic and did another capture just to confirm about the WinExplorer window . . . and after hitting Save WinExplorer didn't come up :o
What setting can I make in Preferences so that the WinExplorer window never appears?
Thanks!

Running Win10

Yes, I'm using "Post Capture Pop-up Dialog" . . I then "Save as" and give it a name.
But when I open the jpg file, there's no border

Screenshot Captor / Can't Get a Border on Captured Shots
« on: December 11, 2014, 01:52 PM »
In Preferences > Post-Capture Options, I have checked "Add Border to Image" > Apply > Accept
but no borders appear on my subsequently captured images
Also, in Special Effects Options, I have black for Color and 2 for Width and "Simple Outside" for Default Border Type

What should I do to cause all captured screenshot images to have a border around them?

25
Looks like all I had to do in the first place was choose my \Screenshots directory in the Save In box at the top of the Save Image As window, and ScreenshotCaptor would have remembered it.  :P
