email provider for multiple accounts
« on: January 12, 2014, 04:33 PM »
hello

I am looking for an email provider that:

1) has POP3
2) allows you to create many usernames ([email protected])
3) doesn't need phone verification

I know that gmail stops giving you account after you sign up for 2-3

as for yahoo, for another reason, I wouldn't like to use it

thanks!

outlook.com (latest incarnation of hotmail) allows you to do that.
Like google apps did when it was free.

Here's a guide.

What are you using multiple emails for?

Sorry, as a service provider I have to ask. So many people running spam operations these days.

These days a lot of household ISPs include anywhere from 5-25 email addresses as part of their service bundle.

It also doesn't take much to simply create a server- giving you as many emails as you want off your own domain name.

As @eleman suggested: Outlook.com

Otherwise, if you just want to be anonymous when signing up to a website that insists on your giving an email address, you could use MaskMe.com (FREE Firefox add-on) for email. I use it all the time. It's very handy and preserves your anonymity and enables you to avoid spammers/hackers getting your real email address. It generates a random and unique proxy email address for you for each instance you use it (e.g., similar to [email protected]), and all email addressed to that address goes to the real email account you have designated, where it appears showing you what the proxy address was. So you can always tell which person/organisation sent you that email or passed it on to another sender.

Have you considered lying as an option? It's served me well for this type of thing in the past.

but it will send a code to that mobile and require me to view it and enter it in their webpage (at least gmail does that)

Oaky, which problem are you trying to solve ... anonymity, or simplicity? If the accounts really are legitimate, then a SMS phone number shouldn't be that much of an issue. If the account is or may be discarded later consider updating the phone number to something fake (like (111) 555-1212) after the account has been validated. Or just make the accounts one big loop, where a validates b, b validates c, c validates d, etcetera, etcetera.

+ 1  Good point

Unless it were necessary for the whatever purposes of the web form - e.g., if I am ordering something online from a store - I would NEVER give my real phone number or address when filling in webforms that put it as a "mandatory" field.
If they don't need it for anything specific, then it's none of their blasted business what my phone number or address are, and I will not be obliged to provide that information. In fact, the demanding of that information in the first place is usually a good sign that the website in question is dodgy and only interested in the value of your demographic marketing data, and is likely going to sell it or use it for spamming purposes - or worse (e.g., hijack your ID). So AVOID such sites.

Gmail doesn't require a phone number to create an account - it's optional for account recovery purposes and/or verification.

Just created another account now:
Name
Email
Password
Birth date
Gender

Those are the only mandatory questions, (at least as far as Australians are concerned).

If you choose to skip the Captcha verification then a phone number may be required for a "I am not a robot" verification.

You can have as many GMail accounts as you like, or you can have one and just use a period in it somewhere or email aliases to "create" others.

eg.
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

They will all end up going to [email protected] - trust me, it's a f'n PITA AFAIAC.

Even the alternate domains?

Did you know...
Hundreds of other domains point at mailinator too... Here's one now
@mailtothis.com
All email that goes to that domain ends up at Mailinator!   No sorry, we don't give out the full list - that would be dumb. But, you can point your OWN domain to mailinator too! Read more!
