Hi

First of all, thanks for this great app, a big THANK YOU for all of your hard work!
I've got to say that English is not my native language, so please be patient.  ::)

I have Windows 7 32 and I've been testing epcheck latest version 1.1.3 build 49, and so far so good, everything works as it is supposed to.

I've added, moved, copied and removed a lot of series and every other functions seems to work as intended. :D

However... :
1 - A minor question - I went to "epcheck folder\data" and saw that the folders (numbered) containing the retrieved data (banners and xml files) for some series that I've deleted were still there...

2 - A bigger question :p lol - would it be possible to expand/collapse seasons? I mean series with lots of eps and/or seasons like, south park, simpsons doctor who and others, will fill up the right pane...

Here's an image for better understanding lol

collapsed seasons.jpg

2B - Or a drop down menu where we could choose the season...

Just sayn.... :D

Thank's for this!

Hi, vamiz, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.   :)

You're very welcome.  I'm glad you find it useful.

Your English is just fine.  Please don't worry.   :D

Great, thanks for testing.

I'll check into this.

2 - A bigger question :p lol - would it be possible to expand/collapse seasons? I mean series with lots of eps and/or seasons like, south park, simpsons doctor who and others, will fill up the right pane...

You make a good point.  However, programmatically, this would be somewhat difficult due to some AHK limitations.  This is why I added the "automatically scroll to bottom" option.

Hi there again,
Found the problem with my 1st question, the reason for the folders not being deleted is that I removed the profile where they were and didn't deleted them first. I assumed that it would automatically delete their content.

Regarding the 2nd question, ok that's not a problem :) I was just wondering if that could be done, because it would be a little more easy and that right panel would be more organized :)

Nevertheless it is a 5 stars software   :greenclp:

Well, it should and, obviously, my code is faulty!  Thanks for the bug report and I'll try to get this fixed in the next build.  In the meantime, if you want to clean up yourself, do the following:

  • Delete all numbered folders in the data folder.  Leave the TXT, BAK, and INI files alone, however.
  • Go to the Options tab and click the "Refresh all series data now" button.

Hi there again,
Thanks for the suggestion. I already done that
Another minor minor minor thing i came across  :-[
When deleting a profile it leaves a "blank profile" and in folder it leaves one .txt and one .bak file (0kb) . . .

0ne1.jpg

But this is really not an issue.

Yep, this one I was aware of and I will fix it.  Thanks for the report!

Beta build #54:  http://skwire.dcmembers.com/apps/epcheck/epCheck_beta.zip

This is mainly a bugfix build.  The blank profile bug should be fixed.  Deleting a profile should now delete the appropriate series' data folders (if a series doesn't exist on another profile).  I also added text to the status bar that shows which profile is currently selected.  This can be helpful when adding series (so you know which profile you have selected).

Sooo?  No glaring issues with the betas?  If not, I'll promote this build and release it.

1.1.3 build 49 on XP

Show Special Episodes is unchecked.
Orphan Black is showing s00e03 Airdate 4/12/14 (3 days ago on today 4/15/14 to reproduce)
Title = The Cloneversation Overview = Aftershow hosted by Will Wheaton

(This is likely an error with the website entry.)

Also in Build 49 format S01E01 is still showing as s01e01
Several attempts to set it to S01E01 work until shutdown, then display resets to s01e01

Hi,
tested Beta build #54 and the blank profile bug it's indeed fixed and it saves the S00E00 format
But I had some problems running this version, like sometimes when I refresh the data it just hangs and have to shut it down, also for some series it asked me to run it as an administrator, but after closing it and running it again it all went good, but didn't downloaded any information. Maybe it's just something with my computer, but i leave this here, to see if anyone else had/has the same problems.
Still using build 49, cause 54 it seems to me more slow/with hangs.. ?

The "ep display format not saving" bug should be (finally) fixed now in build #56:

Looking good!

I haven't done much with the profiles yet... I'll report back once I have done so.

Thanks!

Just working with the profiles now, and so far all is working fine.

One issue I noticed - not related to Profiles - is that the option of having a leading "The" moved to the end of the series name isn't working in most cases. E.g., of seven series that begin with "The", two worked - meaning "The" was moved to the end of the name - and five kept "The" at the beginning and thus sends those series to near the end of the list.

Thanks!

Jim

Sure. Here's the five that didn't work:

The Americans
The Big Bang Theory
The Blacklist
The Following
The Walking Dead

Two that did:

The Shield
The Wire

Thank you.

Those all worked for me.  However, this setting might need a little explanation.  It only works on series when they are added (and that option is enabled).  That is, it doesn't go back and change up the list after the fact.  Perhaps this is what you're experiencing?

Can't remember if it was covered but an issue that came up us that I tried adjusting a column and the program had a CPU surge and would not come out of it. I let it run for thirty-six minutes before forcing it closed to start again.

Trying to track down a reason why the program sometimes "whites" out all information. All text is just gone even though nothing has changed. I just delete the config file and all is right again.

This is a long-standing issue I've tried to solve over the years.  It has to do with all the extra listview libraries I use in AutoHotkey.  I've never been fully able to track it down.

The information is actually still there.  If you can minimize and restore the window, it should repaint itself and be fine.

That is entirely possible. I can't remember if it's true - most series were added the first time I used the program, which goes back a little ways. So I guess there's no way to make it happen now other than deleting and re-adding those series?

Thank you.

Highlight the series in the list, press F2, make your changes, and click off the row.   ;)

Disable and release with new fix's. ...

Hi all,
A bit of a random more general comment, I think it's a mistake to hold a release that has important fixes over one "tough feature". I think especially in this community we are pretty good at noticing new updates, so I approve of just "unloading" the interim build, which fixes annoyances, and then however long the killer feature takes it what it is. I'd think it might also reduce a tiny bit of cognitive load knowing that all the nuisance bugs are fixed and pushed, with only the "ornery feature" missing.

Just now seeing build 56 - this is a very nice update!  I especially like the Air time, Network, and Status additions.   I probably won't use Profiles but I can see that they would be valuable to others.

epCheck is a terrific little program and has become one of my essential apps (worth every penny of my small donation!)

Thanks skwire.
