Box doesnt offer direct links, it wants me to upgrade first
any service without having to create account would be preferable

This is one of those questions that comes over and over, and there should be a really clear easy tutorial and recommended service for it.

It would be nice to have a tutorial for newbies on how to do it.

There should be one out there on the web somewhere, otherwise it would be a nice little project for someone to write up.

I see that now... wasn't that way last time I used it, but that was years ago. Drat.

Dropbox should work just fine. Any file in your dropbox folder you can simply right-click and select "Share Dropbox link" and it will take whoever clicks it to a page that has a big blue download button. No need (for others) to create an account or enter a captcha or anything. And no need for you to pay to use this feature.

ADrive - No Capcha or waiting period, a shared file is sent immediately.

Sign up for the Personal Basic plan which is free. (Clarification: They don't need to sign up, just you.)

I have been delivering 150+ MB files weekly for several months using zippyshare.com. Free, and you can send single files up to 200 MB. The files remain accessible for 30 days from the last download. You open your uploaded file and copy the url address to send a download link in an email. The only trick that I've encountered with about 100 downloads is that first timers tend to have trouble picking which download link is the correct one once they open the link. I suggest you send a test link to yourself and give it a try first, but I always tell the recipients that it is the orange download button to the upper right of the screen; the others below are advertisements. Give it a go and let me know what you think. I don't work for the company, but tried a dozen different services listed in one of those online comparisons (freewaregenius I think) and this was the simplest with the largest free send capacity.
