Primarily Firefox (19.0.02) because my collection of extensions offer (1) improved security online and (2) facilities to access, manipulate, and save information suitable to my work flow.  Occasionally use SRWare Iron (but uninstalling old versions and reinstalling new ones is tedious compared to Firefox's easy updates), originally because I wanted to improve load speeds, but find no consistent advantage over the current FF.  I never use spyware Chrome; and I am also very careful to avoid the spyware "features" in all Google services (FF security extensions really help in avoiding these).  Certain commercial sites require I fire up IE (9.0.8112.16470).

I was using Chrome until I can no longer tolerate its inability to render fonts properly. So I switched back to Firefox. I had to install 50-ish extensions and scripts to make it adaptable to my multi-tasking workflow and I'm surprised that it no longer lags as when I left it in v4. In Chrome, my PC would've been a parading snail with that number of extensions. But Chrome remains as my backup browser. I also have both of Firefox's and Chrome's portable versions with the settings synced (I enabled FF Sync and Google Sync but I don't have a mobile phone or tablet that would benefit from those, but it's good that it's there for me to use once I have a mobile phone).

Just for curiosity I installed Maxthon but I almost never use it. Can someone explain at least one reason to use it?

Government websites, that break in other browsers? (it's IE in a prom dress, so it's very likely to work in cases like this)

There are also a number of shopping sites that, without saying so, require the IE engine to complete a purchase, at least they do if you're running some flavour of Windows.

[Ahem] My daughter informs me that the Webkinz site, which does not work properly in IE on her laptop-plus-monitor system, runs just fine in Maxthon.  ;)

I can only visit my bank account via IE or Maxthon ("IE de Luxe")

- maybe because I normally use Waterfox (64-bit Firefox 18)

Curt, I would also like to know which bank that is as I have yet to find a bank, in the last 2-3 years, that only supports one browser.

My Danish bank is the Swedish giant, Nordea. I can enter the site via any browser, but when I start using the banking features, my (64-bits) Waterfox will log me off. I guess this has to do with Java (or some other fancy technique), rather than browser marque.

My words "Only IE" did not include the ocean of other browsers - or didn't you read the other thread "What browser do you use?", before answering my words about IE? - only Waterfox and Internet Explorer. :-[

64 bit Waterfox is a modestly rare browser. So in many ways that does not surprise me at all.

However I haven't many sites since one particular site from my old job that generic Firefox didn't handle right. Your choice of surveys but it's #2-4 in the browser world, so devs DO test for it.

FYI Nordea works just fine with standard FireFox as well as Chrome, so it's probably a Waterfox thing.
