Traying windowing tool?

Hi

I am looking for a tray iconizer tool. What I am looking for is a very small memory print. I have tried couple tools, and some either were flakey or felt like they were using more memory than they should.

I am looking for an iconizer but I would be happy to have couple extra features like, roll up, stay on top etc

Any decent suggestions(free or commercial)?

To save us a bit of breath, which ones have you tried?  I use the one built into PS Tray Factory but that's most likely overkill for your purposes.  Have you tried RBTray?

I have tried bunch of them last year and I do not remember the names  of most unfortunately. I have tried another one called "Trayit" and it seemed like nice and featureful but it is very flakey and does nto work well always.

I will try RBtray sounds reasonable.

On the commercial side there's Actual Tools' Actual Window Manager which is their all-in-one tools for manipulating windows in all sorts of ways.

I believe there may also be a non-expiring discount mentioned in the forums somewhere.

Actual Tools also has split up various parts into separate programs for those who don't need everything.
Sounds like what you want is their Actual Window Menu which is described as...
"Add to any window's system menu a lot of new functions, such as Roll Up, Make Transparent, Minimize to Tray, Keep Always-on-Top, Change Priority, and many others."

That one sells for $20 whereas the whole suite/bundle is $50.

On my othere machine, back when v5.x was out, I couldn't part with the full amount so I bought Actual Window Menu. Some time later I found
the discount for the full bundle and went for it. There's a number of features I don't use or need though. So check out all the different offerings.
Some features overlap among the programs.

Look at PowerMenu some time. It isn't much, and pretty ancient, but the few times I need stuff like that it meets my needs perfectly.

I've used PowerMenu for years. But I switched to Moo0 WindowMenuPlus a couple of weeks ago. It has a couple more features than PowerMenu which can be handy.

AnVir Task Manager Free (http://www.anvir.com) has the features you're looking for (except the 'roll up', but it can create 'floating icons' instead). It has some more features (startup manager, hard disk and cpu load monitor, etc), so the memory footprint may not be minimal though.

I've been using WinTray for quite awhile in Vista 64 bit:

You hold down Shift while clicking the minimize button and it minimizes to tray.

The apps I use in Vista64 I've found replacements for in W7 so I only use it on the Vista machine.  But it doesn't seem to interfere with anything as far as I can tell.

@ilovekonoka, anvir is kind of overkill for my need, on the otherhand I also use another task manager. So I doubt that I will switch

if you're comfortable with AHK, you can roll-out a mashup since you can modify the code as you like. here's one such script for tray minimizer - Min2Tray.
