Not sure if it qualifies, but I like the (Microsoft) RDP App. It was quick, simple, well laid out, easy to use, and allows someone to instantly connect to a real computer where they could actually get some work done.

Of these, I use DMToolKit, DropBox, GoodReader, nook, Comics, iCabMobile, Reeder, Read It Later, Evernote, Windowshop, eBay, Index Card, OnSong, Netflix, eReader, Stanza, and NPR the most.  I rarely play games on it- playing mostly on my iPhone it seems, though the board games play really well on the iPad when you're playing against someone.  By using DMToolKit, DropBox, GoodReader, Evernote, Index Card, iCabMobile, and Desktop, I rarely use my books at my D&D games.  I use the iPad and my tablet in conjunction to take the place of a back breaking number of books and binders and notebooks.  And it all fits behind the screen.

Propellerhead is simply amazing. Reason is mind-blowingly amazing.

I used to use a Reason demo tune as my wakeup music in MusicMatch Jukebox. It was just wicked cool.

I think anyone will have a hard time finding some cooler software than ReBirth for the iPad.

There are some TB-303 clones there with samples.

The ReBirth software replicates the TB-303, 808, and 909. The link above has some other devices to replicate the 303 along with samples that you can listen to.

Actually, looking at the photo Tom posted, you're probably right, Renegade... Still, finding something cooler is now a mission for me, a point of pride, if you will! Am I restricted to iPad apps or can it be an app that will run on any portable device/format?

That's the exactly software that I was investigating writing... I was looking into the math and equations to do the calculations for an AR application. Oh well. I only spent a few days on it. Still, it would be fun to do.

Yeah... I'd never heard of Rebirth.  I looked at it after I posted my links, and I must say, they pale in comparison.     And for $14.99... purchased!
