I have just read and thoroughly enjoyed Irrationality by Stuart Sutherland, in which he covers the anchoring effect, and numerous other ways in which we succumb to irrational thinking.

i'm currently reading Mindless Eating by Brian Wansink http://www.amazon.co...-Think/dp/0553804340 which explains, pretty much, everything you needed to know about the psychology of eating. it's not a diet book.

I was reading a somewhat recent article in a print magazine about iPhone making inroads into the enterprise, at the expense of Blackberry and shaking my head about how the article was sounding like the 'cool kidz' you describe.
