hey Skwire! Got it working. Uninstalled via command prompt -su and reinstalled.
I guess I installed files2folder from within the RAR.

Thanks skwire, I now know that for future reference. BTW, I was trying to avoid having to make the folder and move the shortcut into it.

First of all lots of greetings to SKwire for coding this and Happy to see the active development even after the initial build release 1.5 years ago.
My request still remains that it would be very kind of you, if you can include even folders in the right click for this program
Thank you either way for creating such beautiful program which I regularly use
Sir Skwire, I'm waiitng for a reply to this, it would be very kind of you if you can reply to this.

Excellent program!

But just found out that it doesn't work with non-unicode file names... such as :

Chinese: 七不
Japanese: きメイ

Any plan of adding this into your to do list? Again... good job!  :)

------------
Edit: I think I found out why... the file names are not even displayed correctly in command prompt, I only see the characters being replaced by ?????.
Guess I need to change the Region and Language setting for the non-unicode first. Hmm...

Apologies for the late reply.  I've tried to make Files 2 Folder Unicode compatible but I've been unsuccessful to this point (even with AHK_L Unicode).

Any ideas of adding folders to that list, like it should allow to select the folders also to push...?

Hi, I congratulate you for this fantastic application and +1 to the gebeleisis suggestion to fill the "move all the files into a subfolder named:" box with the name of the file right clicked and if is posible all selected.

I would love too if Cancel and OK button include keyboards shortcuts (Cancel and OK) because I am a keyboard lover.  :-[

Keep up the good work

Gah, my apologies.  Here's a fixed version:

Website | Download
v1.1.0 - 2011-09-15
! Fixed an issue introduced by the keyboard accelerators added in the
previous version.  Embarrassing, really.  =]  (Thanks, antekgla)

How do you uninstall this? I tried to install it and I have a right click menu but nothing happens. I need to uninstall it and then try to re-install but I dont see how to do this? I think I am in the right place for Files 2 Folder?

this is from the help file:
; Installation -------------------------------------------------------------

1) Unpack archive to a folder of your choice.

2) Run the Files2Folder.exe.  A message box will pop up asking you if you would like to register the shell extension.  Click yes.

3) A shortcut will also be created that will allow you to unregister the shell extension if you wish to do so.

4) Alternately, you can silently install Files 2 Folder using the -s switch like this:
    c:\path\to\Files2Folder.exe -s

   To silently uninstall use -su.

Unfortunately I did as some others have and ran the .exe from the zip file. So no uninstall file was created. So I unzipped it to a folder a second time ran the exe but nothing happens. I dont see it running in task mgr either. I am running windows xp sp3. Some how I need to maybe just run the install again but it doesn't seem to do anything. I do have the right click menu but that doesn't work. So I figure the registry entries were not made correctly because I initially ran it out of the zip file.

Hi qbw649 and welcome to the site.   :)

To uninstall Files2Folder, open up a command prompt, navigate to the Files2Folder folder and run this command:

Files2Folder.exe -su

Then simply run Files2Folder.exe again to register it at its new location.  Let me know how it goes.

Additional request.  Or perhaps someone already knows of a program that does the following:

For selected files... create subfolders by EXTENSIONS, move files to their appropriate subfolder based on their EXTENSION.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this before.

Thanks Skwire.

As an FYI, keep in mind that this application is NOT compatible with Unicode filenames.

Skwire, a little issue:

As a result of registering, then unregistering, and, perhaps, switching program 'home' directory, I can't get the new version to register.

Prior version was working just fine in context menu.

I've tried registering and unregistering the new version a dozen times.  No luck.

Hope you can set me straight.

Thanks!
