I don't see any reason to be so harsh on them -- it's a short little review with one confusing sentence.

hmmm,
a simple bald statement of the problems with the text would have been more in that line.
You got emotionally involved -- and harsh, as mouser says -- that's different from simply telling things how they are.

Agreed.  And it has other unintended consequences.  It's obvious you are a supporter... what impression does this leave on people about those who support SC and DC?  And does it make them less likely to even try in the future.  Education and understanding are the approach that I would think does the most good.

Not entirely sure how I got emotionally involved.  I simply reviewed the review in my own style (which is a tad blunt, I will admit) :P

^ the 'emotionally involved' approach is pretty common these days, on the internet at any rate.
FWIW I (and I'm sure a lot of others) also have difficulties being, eh, 'unemotionally' direct -- but my problem is I dont say what I want to say (for whatever reasons**), and then when it does eventually get said, it comes out angry, or upset, instead of straight-forward and direct. Which not good, especially when dealing with people face to face. (But I'm getting better over the years.)

** e.g. think I shouldnt say that, etc.

Meh, I just say it anyway and go on the basis "if they don't like what I have to say, then I don't really care".  No point beating around the bush or being polite for the sake of politeness haha

Whatever the merits of the foregoing, it's crystallised something about this blog for me.  Whoever writes it is very prolific, and tends to offer uncritical announcements.  Getting a heads-up on something I didn't know about has value, but I'd rather have deeper analysis, and especially discussion of the relative merits of different programs that do more or less the same thing.

^ the blog that inspired Stephen's comment.

Short and imperfect ("free" rather than "donationware") comments on the TrishTech blog, concluding:

Screenshot Captor is a complete screen capture tool with multi-monitor support. It can capture the screen or part of it using a number of methods. You can also use it to annotate and edit he captures screenshots easily.

Just wanted to make sure from the poster, as it could refer to other blogs in this reviews index.  That seemed pretty non-specific, so wanted clarification of their meaning.

Screenshot Captor seems to have ideas a little above its station. Far from just being a screenshot app – and, rest easy, it does do that – it'll grab images from your webcam, and it even includes a full suite of scanning tools to make sure your documents look their best.
