Anyone know an Antivirus Bootable CD or Floppy with NTFS support

I need to clean an NTFS partition with virus infections.

Anyone know a usable boot disc antivirus with NTFS support - most only seem to support FAT32 which is a bit pointless these days?

I have no idea if it works for you, but Ultimate Boot CD includes mcfee antivirus (virus definitions from 3 may 2007, though).
Maybe it'd be better for you to list the ones you already found so that people won't start suggesting a few you have already seen?

ubcd4win definitely works on NFTS

I have never seen an up to date AV solution that works with NTFS from a boot disc. I have been using NOD32 for a long time now and that doesn't have a boot time option. The last solutions I tried were symantec and that only supported FAT systems (at least at that time).

I think this one might be what you're looking for. Also, just about any "system rescue" disk running a up-to-date Linux system will have read/write support for NTFS (using NTFS-3G).

Thanks - yes someone mentioned Kapersky above. It does look nice but it is a bit off-putting that a big warning pops up that the AV pattern file is out of date having downloaded the latest build.

Avira looks good too but the interface is a bit clunky (to say the least - and it is easy to end up working in German )

This exactly what I did last week with my old laptop! I had a bunch of 2.5 enclosures lying around... Finally it was a bad RAM stick. Anyhow : it's probably the easiest solution if possible -- instead of hunting for ISOs etc.

I recently started using Avast which has a free version for home use, one cool thing is that after the initial installation it prompts you to reboot the machine and it will then do a full drive scan before the OS loads. This should clean any viruses it detects before they have the chance to execute and replicate.

I have started installing AVAST for people who need a free AV app - it seems very nice and has caused fewer problems for me than AVG8.

UBCD4W was very useful - I had dabbled with it before but hadn't noticed that you can update virus definitions during the ISO build and include multiple AV and Malware engines all on one disc. I got a bit carried away and it only just fit on a 700Mb CDROM !!
