If you use google street view to go up the road (away from Ouyen) and then come back, you can see:
a. what looks like the google camera car (I don't quite understand that)
b. work being done on the fence installation.

Funny what you see in the street view. I used to just about live in singapore, but had never been to the Geylang Road area (red light district). So not so long back I thought I'd check it out using street view to see if anything looked almost familiar. As I was moving down the road, I saw a hooker on the footpath (pavement) cupping a presumptive client's genitals in her hand. His face was visible, her's wasn't.

I should take your advice re knowing where I'm taking a photo!

No, he gave up and went camping instead! My partner got a job 1500 km away and it's a nice "commute" to see her, with lots of stops along the way

I had to install Ubuntu and a few other bits and pieces and I nearly (!) got it to work. Someone more tech-savvy than me probably could with probably good results.

Yes, I think so, along with lots of other possibilities....  see IFTTT (IfThisThenThat)

this is an interesting idea.. is there an android app that will monitor an email address and perform actions based on received emails?  if so you could set up something where you EMAILED a designated mail account of yours, and your phone would receive the email that would instruct it to send an sms with the specified contents..

Bit late I s'pose, but Xnview (freeware) has a compare tool, allowing up to 4 selected images to be displayed at once. Images can then be removed from the display one at a time to narrow down your choice, with the remaining images expanding where possible to occupy the freed up space.
 Alternatively, you could select as many images as you wanted from the thumbnail view and use the "create strip of images" tool and use the resulting to compare images.

techidave, I use PDFannotator on my win 8 tablet (with proper stylus) and use it extensively at school.
 Typical workflow for me...
set maths test using word
print to pdf using primo (free)
use pdfannotator and stylus to handwrite solutions on the pdf using the tablet/stylus - on my surface pro,writing maths is a very pleasant experience. (this is the connection to your "software to edit pdf" request)
post solutions online

Cuts down heaps on paper, physical storage, keeping track of past tests.
The price - student licence $29 .... 20 licences $458. Don't know if that is cheap or not for you.

Several years ago, there was some freeware floating around for using your cam to track where you were looking and hence move the cursor. It worked (no comment about the quality of the experience).I can't remember whether it provided for LMB /RMB clicks or not. Probably best used just to sate one's curiosity.

I was under the impression that radio telescopes received rather than emitted and that the SETI  program searched for signals
