OK, I've moved this topic (since it's the active one) to the correct area, and deleted the other one that was already in this section (but didn't gain any replies for some reason).

Carry on :D

if you wanna go a bit more powerful (a lot more) then you could also try Reaper (they have a free version).
-Stephen66515 (June 12, 2020, 05:18 PM)
I'm not sure you have quite captured the scale of the difference!
 ;D ;D ;D

(but Reaper really is very good)

Ha yeah, it has a much steeper learning curve but once you get to grips with it then it becomes a pleasure to work with.  :D

Audacity is probably the best one with the lowest learning-curve...if you wanna go a bit more powerful (a lot more) then you could also try Reaper (they have a free version).

Does anybody have any recommendations for other "emergency kit" type things (minus fire extinguishers/med-kit/snow stuff)?
-Stephen66515 (June 10, 2020, 02:57 PM)

For the UK?

Decent walking shoes, a decent pocket knife/multitool, a couple of litres of water, and a basic understanding of which way is South.

Then walk East or West, the coast is less than 70 miles away no matter where you are and long before you've walked even 15 miles you'll be falling over a made road, fence, houses, MacDonald's, fish and chip shop, off-licence, etc.
 ;) :P

It's going to need to be used in Europe, too.  Pretty much anywhere from here (NW England) to Calabria (SW Italy).

I believe this would be that thread. From 2016, your mileage may vary.

Heh, turns out that was my thread...

Time to revisit it I think XD

I picked it up when they had their range discounted on Amazon AU, (the 1200A, 1500A, and 2000A were $80, $90, and $100 respectively).

Set up an alert on 🐫^³

The price (£80) seems great for what it is.  I have it on my list though as we won't be getting the new car till the end of next month so I don't need it until then.

Picked up a portable car jump starter, (1500A peak), recently ... now I have to wait for the battery to die to test it.  In the meantime it can act as a portable battery pack with QC3.0.

Be interested to try this on my Landcruiser, only a 3.4l diesel but of the old indirect injection glow-plug variety, (20:1 compression ratio), not the more modern common rail direct injection versions ... unfortunately the battery doesn't want to die :-\

Amazon [AU]

Also a set of Tronsmart Spunky Beat TWS earbuds

Well...that's bloody useful.

Just added it to my purchase list!

Thanks!

Grand Theft Auto 5 is free on the Epic store this week.

Downloads throttled to like 1mbps

Gonna take me weeks before I can play it lmao

For those who missed the meeting, we could maybe arrange a few informal voice chats on the DC Discord server.  I'm usually free at most hours to join in :)

JamesEs, that's an awesome view -- looks like a painting!
zxcbvn, i've been noticing more large birds in the city where I am - almost as if they are coming back to reclaim their territory from the humans!

It's something we have noticed here too.  There seems to be a LOT more birdsong at all hours of the day.  It's pretty nice!

Thanks. Was there. Seriously doubt anything will be reimbursed as per their policy and the fact that they can't get the money from a company that is bankrupt. Still submitted though.

Worst they can say is no.  I'm hearing quite a few people succeeded with refunds though.

Sadly I can not remember who I paid. I think mine was direct.

Unless you paid in during Kickstarter, it will have been through XSolla (They are the only payment method they allowed) - even if you used Paypal...it went through XSolla ^_^

Check your emails for a receipt :)

Yep, the CEO blindsided the devs and just shut everything down with no warning. Devs were told on the Monday and had to clear everything out by Tuesday.

The entire community is in uproar and there is a dedicated Discord setup for a class-action law-suit.

Pretty annoyed about it all tbh.

From the sites page:

Youtube commentary:
https://www.youtube..../watch?v=bfiibVaEMeY

The main discussion about a lawsuit is being done on the Discord channel. I already filed with the Washington state AG's office. I am not expecting a return on what I spent but I would like to see the guy go to jail. He horribly mismanaged the money and six weeks ago had another land sale to gather up more money before saying it is all done a week ago. So he knew they were shutting down and still was asking for money through kickstarter.

I only lost a couple hundred. Others have lost 5-20k and more.

If you purchased through XSolla, request a refund.  People have been given refunds going back around 600 days.  I've applied for mine :)

I've finally gotten around to starting Mafia 3 -- in an attempt to get some escape from the real world.
It's much harder to get into, and not nearly as satisfying, but it does grow on you.. The acting is great, the story is good (though it can't compare to Mafia 2), and it's BIG.
The music is, as with the Mafia 1 and 2, absolutely outstanding, and adds a huge amount to the game.
It's amazing how these games make you feel like you are living in these worlds..

I LOVED the Mafia 3 story. It felt SO immersive and I felt absolutely lost once I'd finished it.

I usually hate stories in games...but MAFIA 3 took me in.

Note 2: This also gives you full access to the Android (and iOS one if that have it) App so you can learn on the go!

Internet Explorer 7

You do know that basically no website will work with that anymore, right?

Also...your error messages are in Spanish...most people here don't speak spanish...might be worth maybe giving a translation seeing as it somehow seems relevant to whatever it is you want?

Aside from that...I have no idea what you're even asking so...I'll leave this at that.

Living Room / Re: A Rogue Goose...for your Desktop....

https://fossbytes.co...-your-windows-10-pc/

Bit of a misleading headline - the only damage it can do is cause a computer to crash if you're stupid enough to load a lot of them at once... ;D ;D ;D

A word of advice here though: many users have reportedly maxed out their CPU after generating more than one goose buddy (yep! you can do that too). But keep in mind that you can end up crashing your PC if you go overboard with the Desktop Goose.

It doesn't claim to be a "nice little friend"...it's SUPPOSED to be an evil little shit that annoys the living hell out of you...that's its entire purpose haha
