Send What You GotIf you really want donation (especially of any size) you might provide an option for people that don't have credit cards (like an address). I don't even have a checking account. I have found that you can not bounce checks if you don't write them. [ed. note: we accept donations in the form of cash, diamonds, gold, paintings, rare stamps, international chocolate, etc.]

LetMeType: Freeware textHere is a freeware program to pop up commonly used words while you type in any program. Like Microsoft's AutoComplete, LetMeType helps you enter text, but regardless of the program you use. Running in the background, it analyses what you type. After some time it has collected enough information to guess a word after you have typed the first two or three letters. A list of the most probable words is displayed, and you can select one with a single keystroke or just continue typing. http://www.clasohm.com/lmt/en/ |

DonationCoder.com Impromptu Real Life Dinner+Drinks, Sat 3/24 @ Champaign-Urbana, IllinoisI've just moved into a new place in champaign-urbana, IL (that's why i haven't been around as much this last month). Gothic and Della (two DC forum/irc-channel people) are taking a trip to visit this saturday, and on the off chance that there are other people who visit this forum who live in the area or like driving (or taking Amtrak), i thought i would extend the invitation to join us for a late dinner and drinks. We will be going out not eating at my place, but i'm happy to host anyone who wants to stay overnight (bring your sleeping bag!). So it will be late dinner and drinks at a downtown champaign restaurant+bar, on saturday night, march 24th. I'll post more specifics as they become clear but the details may change as the night progresses so you'll have to coordinate with me ahead of time. We may end up going to the movies sunday afternoon and you are welcome to join us there as well. Please message me or email me ([email protected]) if you plan on coming - and please do come! it will be fun ![]() ps. It's ok if you are an anti-social person who never posts, this will be just a casual get together, nothing stressfull, and we won't be talking about DC all night long either. I'm not very social myself so it will be an interesting experience.. |

XMplay - Free Efficient Media Player XMPlay (http://www.un4seen.com/) - Old School media formats player (MOD, XM, etc), and all current media formats. I was thinking to myself: "I like mediamonkey, but it takes ~10sec to start, uses up ~60mb, and ~20% of the CPU while playing. It'd be niice to have that functionality on a tiny, non-resource-hogging application. Portable if possible". My idea of a tiny player was evilplayer: reduced in size, but feature poor. Enter XMPlay. it plays everything with a memory footprint of < 1mb. It has skins, and a library, for the same size of evilplayer. It supports all winamp plugins (for me the Ozone plugin is essential!). It can connect to last.fm. and all that using a few files in a folder, no registry at all, portable and super-compact. It uses 15 mb when playing stuff through the Ozone plugin (CPU intensive) and about 17% CPU. It pops up immediately, vs 10 sec for MM. All my config comes with me in case I put in in a thumbdrive. This, gentleman, is beautiful ![]() And the sound quality is, to my ears, better than MM (BASS engine). See http://fileforum.bet...ew/1011077179/1/view Oh, and global shortcuts to boot, minizes to tray etc. You don't see apps this complete and tiny often. |
