Ambient Design just released the much anticipated 2.5 update for ArtRage.

I've touched on a few of the new features in my ArtRage review thread here: https://www.donation...index.php?topic=7988

Damn! I can't believe this happened now, after I just bought Zoner's Draw for like 37 cents or something.

Go on Ken, treat yourself - ArtRage is all the rage you know - and it is completely different to Zoner Draw ...

Well, I will certainly consider it on YOUR recommendation Carol! Can anyone tell me though what it has that PSP doesn't? Also, is there a trial period for the ful version and/or can I tell what the full version has from trying the free version? After all, if I feel that way about 37 cents, just imagine how I'd feel about $25!!!  :D

It is a painting program - not a photo editing program. Really aimed at Art and creativity - hence the title. It has more in common with Corel Paint than anything else.

Try the trial version (you soon find out what is missing - the whole interface is there but when ever you try to use a tool that is in the paid for version it tells you!).

Ken - allow me to add my voice (text?) to what Carol is saying. You will not be disappointed with ArtRage Pro AND you'll spend the next few months feeling guilty about having stolen it for $19.95. I kid you not!

I think the discount's over.
The site doesn't accept the code today (which is well after the stated expiration date of 20th July).

True, very true, but at a nickel under 5 bucks WITHOUT the discount, I still consider it a steal (or should that be "steel"? I kill myself...  :P)!

Thanks, Carl.  I was hitting "recalculate" after entering the code... silly me!

Friends, you are confusing me! From what I have been told upgrading from 2.2 to 2.5 is FREE, but if you cannot wait until 2.5 is being passed on to the registered users you will have to buy it. Isn't that the way it is? Or did they ran from the free upgrade promise (see second image:)?

Strange Curt - I managed to upgrade for free about a week or so ago. Have you tried clearing your web browser cache and restarting it? Just a thought... Also, check out their user's forum here. There are at least two threads shouting the praises of 2.5!

Did you upgrade from inside the program, or did you just download the new file and installed on top of the old?

(I am not willing to clear my cache)

PS ha, ha... Just did an update check via help - check for updates online (ctrl-u) in Art Rage and got the same message that Curt posts above. I had to go into help - about to confirm that I have 2.5.13 installed:

Crumb! I'm getting sloppy  - I've fixed the url - thanks, Curt. As to how I upgraded, I used the link from within the Help file menu. Hope you get this sorted out soon.

Arhhh, now I think I know. Maybe ArtRage is part of the programs Filehippo Update Checker will handle? That must be the answer, yes!

- meaning that I merely have forgotten the upgrading. Because I know I havent beeen using ArtRage for at least two weeks. But if Filehippo made me upgrade together with a lot of other programs, I could simply have forgotten I did it.

Filehippo Update Checker doesn't appear to deal with ArtRage (just installed FhUC - looks very useful) - when I run it and click on show all programs on the right in the browser results window it doesn't list ArtRage as installed.

Hmmm...

That leaves me with Appget. Also very usefull, but not automated like Filehippo:

Anyway; ArtRage 2.5 seems to be very capable!
