go to that page and just follow instructions - if you are a full member it will present you with a deluxe universal key immediately.
otherwise you have some other choices.  i'm dying to hear if anyone has any troubles with this before i go public with it.

The only program currently set up to use the license keys is the latest beta of Screenshot Captor:

but all dc apps will use this system in the coming week.

One thought though - once the license is entered why allow a new key to be registered?

Would it not be better just to remove the registration link, and reflect the registered user in the About window?

it should show your name and email in the about box.
yes i suppose i could remove or make it harder to change the license info.. though it can be useful if you want to copy it from one application to another i suppose...

Works both, full member AND gast.
Could generate keys at easy.

But it's a little piece of work to do
- found the app you want
- register to the forum
- check your eMails
- activate your forum account
- login
- search for your software again
download, install, read the help what do do with this key...

I don't know yet how, but it should be a bit easier. (nevertheless those app are worth it  )

- maybe an hint to bockmark the download side first bevor got to register
- use cookie to help the gast
- an little howto on the key generator about what to do with this numbers
(ther's yet only (copy and paste into the application) )

hi stefan i'm flag you figured out how to get it to work.
you are surely right that it is a bit of work for new members.

some things i will try to do:
1) automatically email members with their universal license key as soon as they donate.
2) maybe auto mail people who sign up at the forum with their freeware license keys after they sign up (ie along with their confirmation email?)
3) add better instructions to the keys page for what to do with the license key (ie select all license text, open about box, push "enter new license" button, paste in text).

4) easier to find the software to download - there will be one page listing download links for all software, accesible to public, which will make it easier to find the lastest version of all soft you want to download.

i added more instructions to the key generation page, and i added some links back and forth between the quick download list page and the key page, should make it easy to quickly download the files and keys.

still doesnt help the multistep process of signing up, getting confirmation email, coming back.

im going to modify the sign up page and confirmation email to be more helpful and provide some links.

Mouser, didn't you say, if an user get his licence once,
he could use this in all other DC.com apps ?

Shouldn't the name of the keyfile
not be modifyed to something universal like DonationCoder.key ?
Instead of "DonationCoder_ScreenshotCaptor_Key.dat"

So user could copy his key and didn't must
do this procedure "copy, About-Box, paste" again and again.

yes, i will be doing exactly this.  and also as discussed in another thread, you will be able to copy the key to windows\system and it will never need to be entered for any other programs.  just need to finish updating some of our other programs before i get to that
