I use FTP Commander 8.02 by InternetSoft Corp, and like it.  Works great for the church website I webmaster.  However, I've not been able to use it to connect to my DonationCoder space.  But I suspect that's a problem with the user's knowledge.  Probably some setting I've not gotten right, rather than the software itself.

you need a client with FTPES support to access DonationCoder's ftp site. afaik, only Filezilla and Totalcmd has the support built-in. i'm not sure about other clients.

cuteftp can also do it, but I use filezilla.  Why is FTPES not a standard option on ALL ftp software?  What's the deal with that?  I didn't know TC had it!  Nice!!  Maybe I'll use TC to manage my dc website files.  I don't like most ftp programs specifically because I prefer to deal with my files like I do in file managers.  Nice!!!

Hmm, cannot get Filezilla to connect to DonationCoder.  Cannot anyone specify settings I should use?

Currently, I'm using my DC username, my DC password, "Normal" connection with FTPES set, and port 21, trying to connect to ftp.donationcoder.com

I get the following (I'm copying and pasting my password from the fSekrit file where I store it):

it's not necessary to specify a port with FTPES, just leave it blank. also under server type, choose, "FTPES - FTP over explicit TLS/SSL". i'll try to post a screenshot later.

LOL, I can get Filezilla to connect to DC, an FTPES site, but cannot get it to connect to my church website!

Hilarious!  No doubt operator difficulty...

Cha-ching!  Left the port blank, and it worked!  Cool, now I'm fully settled in with Filezilla.  I like it better than FTP Commander, because it doesn't sport a goofy mouse on the form.
