I think the Unix entry is the funniest.

Yeah, that one was great - good use of tragedy and delayed punchline. :)

Hehe, even as a non-programmer I found some of those to be excellent. Having wrestled with setting up a Perl-based Wiki recently, I found the Perl one quite poigniant. There are also some great ones in the comments, for example:

XML:

After describing the pistol, the bullets, and your foot in minute detail, you find out that you can’t actually get to shoot your foot. So you begin describing your disappointment instead.

Apparently lots of folks have their own variations. Just hit http://www.google.co...g+shoot+self+in+foot . Here's my favorites from http://www.m5p.com/~pravn/foot.html
  Windows95:
       d:\setup
And the best one of all...
And lest we forget our roots...

    >shoot self in foot
I don't see any self here.
    >shoot me in foot
There is no you in the foot.
    >shoot foot
I don't know which foot you're talking about.
    >shoot left foot
    You don't have the gun.
    >get gun
    You take the gun.
    You're lantern just went out.
    You are attacked by grues.
