Yet another Hotkey app!

[zridling]

Although I've moved on to AutoHotkey which does far more, HotKeyz is freeware and perhaps the best of the rest of the targeted hotkey apps. Good interface design, lots of flexibility included for creating the widest variety of hotkeys (I call them "keyboard shortcuts," although that technically applies to keys within apps), and options available to make sure your keys are accurate and unconflicted. It even does hotstrings, which is great. Check it out if you're looking for a hotkey app.

Nice - thanks for the pointer. I've been looking at a lot of these applications lately, I'll add this on to the list.

What, Darwin?! You on some sort of mission to reply to all the orphaned topics out there!?

Busted...

I gave it up because I realised (after about 15 posts - I'm a quick study) that I was replying to posts that really didn't require any reply, either because they are so out of date or because... well.. they just don't need replies

[yksyks]

Thanks for heads up, anyway, there's a new version available. I was using Hotkeyz previously and referred about it in this forum, too. If somebody is interested in these applications, I later switched to HotkeyP, which is faster, lighter on resources and in my opinion has more capabilities. It just lacks the option of creating application specific shortcuts, which I don't need. On the other hand, unlike Hotkeyz, it can easily handle special media keys.

Ah, there is a silver lining to what has turned out to be an embarrassing episode! Glad that it helped you out, yksyks! Thanks for the pointer to HotkeyP as well, I hadn't heard of that one before

Darwin- I got busted for the same thing on the ls-universe forums, and was handed a trump card:

[Darwin]

That's AWESOME, Edvard! Thanks you've made me smile...

[Lashiec]

Cool, I always forget to save a copy of that card.

[lanux128]

Edvard, that's one crazy cool card! i remember seeing a "thread archaeology" card once but forgot to save it.

[Darwin]

Yeah, I've saved a copy as well! Great stuff. Be a great username and the picture would be a great Avatar...

[app103]

Anyone can raise a thread from the grave, but it takes special magic to do it and people not realize it's an old thread...even more magic to bring it back to life, especially if everyone knows it's an old thread.

great card, btw...saved it...will come in handy on another forum.

[zridling]

Okay, that's a great avatar, app!

Continuing discussion hijack here.

HotKeyz supports the special media keys now if anybody is interested to know ;-)

Hoekey + Nircmd FTW!

It doesn't seem to work with my computer... None of the special keys can be assigned in HotKeyz as far as I can see.
