Actually tbh I'm not sure what you're asking -- maybe I was too brief ?
I was looking for this thread, couldn't remember the yaydl name and tried a forum search for 'youtube downloader'. This thread didn't show up, not in the first page of results anyways. It's now the sixth result.

FYI, we're at 0.6.1 (upstream) now, additionally supporting three more sites.
If anyone here has a Windows machine, feel free to attach an updated binary here - everyone else can just grab it from the usual repositories (on Windows, that includes Cargo).

Im getting mostly errors last few times i've tried to use yaydl:
"Fetching from YouTube.
Error: EOF while parsing a value at line 1 column 0"

I know, there are massive problems with certain YouTube (and even VOE) videos, e.g. those which are a playlist (or split into many .ts files) won't work at all...

Version 0.6.4 was updated to use a newer version of the YouTube API. I hope it helps!

(I'll probably update it to 0.6.5 to better display YouTube-side errors...)

It turns out that YouTube marks some videos as "unplayable" in its API. yaydl will now say it does not exist.

Yup, it was a mistake caused by yaydl using an undocumented API.
Fixed in 0.6.6. The last release for today. Pinky promise!

Getting an error about "relative url without a base" quite frequently with some youtube urls, not sure why. For example this one: https://www.youtube..../watch?v=Qi7knpS1hBA

There are a few YouTube video "types" which are unsupported, including those consisting of more than one file. I could still need more manpower...

I prepared new features, by the way: yaydl 0.8.0 can use Chrome or Firefox to parse websites. Good for some porn sites.
