youtube downloader?
« on: March 17, 2019, 09:30 PM »
What is a good free addon youtube vid downloader and browser to use with, please? I prefer seamonkey or pale moon, but will try just about anything if it has a good dumbed-down HUD or clickable icon for code-challenged non-pros like me.

I've recently discovered 4K Video Downloader, which isn't a browser add-on, but it seems a decent and simple downloader app:

I have tried many offline tools, 4kdown.., 3dyou.. etc. but they all fail as and when youtube makes changes.

Recently when I search for 'youtube to mp3' for my son, I found https://www.onlinevi...er.com/mp3-converter
The best I must say. No fuss, direct mp4 or mp3 and many more, see screen shots.

2019-03-18_153211.pngyoutube downloader?

It is in my bookmark now and I did not faced any problem till date. You may give it a try.

Regards,

Anand

Just a minor fuss, but still fuss:

Personally, I use Chrome > Open with... > Firefox 52 > Video Download Helper or 4K or ... €10.00 YouTube Song Downloader from AbelsSoft https://www.abelssof...Tube-Song-Downloader
But of course, that is all too slow for busy people. Guess what, I am not that busy!

I've recently discovered 4K Video Downloader, which isn't a browser add-on, but it seems a decent and simple downloader app:

https://www.4kdownload.com/
I've used it for a while but got annoyed by the ads trying to get me to buy the full version.

Then I discovered Free Download Manager which has no ads and mostly does the job (though it seems to be limited to 1080p even when a 1440p version of the video is available).

It also allows you to change the bandwidth it uses for downloading on the fly, which may be useful if you have somewhat slow Internet access and decide you'd want to watch some streaming while you've already started a download.

Now since then I got fibre optics internet access at home, and don't need to limit my bandwidth usage any more, I've mostly switched to Youtube-DLG (a minimalistic GUI for youtube-dl), which doesn't seem to allow changing the bandwidth on the fly, but does download 1440p videos when available.

Savefrom.net.jpgyoutube downloader?

I use Savefrom.net, but use it strictly in-site and don't use any of the offered one-click helpers or other options.

Savefrom.net

I have been using the 3D Youtube Downloader - https://yd.3dyd.com/home/
I really like this application.  If you just want audio, you can download the yt mp4 and it will convert it automatically.

Seamonkey is letting through way too many popups, and some text fonts are microscopic. What's a good browser?

Those using Find And Run Robot can make a simple alias for youtube-dl with settings like these:

regex: ^yt (.+)
results: youtube-dl | C:\folder\youtube-dl.exe -o C:\savefolder $$1

To use it when browsing YouTube
1. focus the browser's URL bar
2. press ctrl+C to copy the URL
3. open FARR and type "yt "
4. press ctrl+V to paste the url
5. press Enter

Even more convenient, but a bit more complex to set up, is to have an alias use AutoHotkey to grab the active browser tab URL and feeds it to youtube-dl.

The best tool is a Premium membership...  :(

https://www.youtube.com/premium

I have a membership, and I can say that the best tool isn't a premium membership.  I download videos even though I have a membership because of this stipulation:

Download videos and music on your mobile devices to watch and listen offline for up to 30 days without being connected to the internet. For more details on how to download videos and music, please see this Help Center article.

I don't download normal music that way- but unique things that could disappear and are not available elsewhere?  Yeah, I download those all the time.

tnx Nod5, but a bit too tech for me.

wraith808 I have to surf yt w/o logging into it, to protect my ID and privacy.
btw fyi the live action air crash investigation vids are all disappearing and being replaced with pay per view on yt.

Re: 1hr Delta Binaural Beat Session (0.9hz) ~ Pure
Using Brave browser and 4K Video Downloader set to 480 quality...
If I play direct from Youtube online, I get a nice throbbing effect, as; wooOOOoooOOOoooOOOooo
But if I download it and play it back in VLC, it loses the throb, as; woooooooooooooooooooooo.
What gives?
