Will cStatus become multilingual at some point in the future?

At the location where I work (in Paraguay) Internet is getting spotty at best. But when we ask for support from our ISP they usually sent over a crew to change the modem before even looking at the real problem. A waste from our time as well as theirs. We used to make dumps with WireShark to show them where things go wrong in the network, but the language barrier between the lowly tech support and real networking analysis software is vast, and I don't mean the barrier between Spanish/English unfortunately.

cStatus is much more digestible by tech support, who will hopefully push our problem more quickly to the required tech support level. Still, I would think that if there would be language support in the future, it would help out even more quickly.

Yes, I had to send several emails to insist on withdrawing the malware flag or telling me what malware I had.
(And 2 or 3 emails were not enough , if you understand me)

Well, a multilingual feature (and many others) would be great in cStatus.

cStatus is donationware with no limitations or nagging, but given that I have received several emails from people, ranging from support requests to thank-you, who are using cStstus for business purposes and do not make donations, I'm not expecting to receive much support for this project.
I'm fine with that, it was the way I release it but there is no incentive in making more than the features I need for myself, and maybe a couple of "simple" requests.

Unfortunately, I have a busy "day job" and a family and very little time to dedicate to this "freeware" software hobby, usually the software's I release will have the features I need and use. And I'm usually happy to share with other people.

My To Do list for cStatus is huge and starts to look tiresome.
Looking at the current cStatus version, it suits my needs. And I'm starting to think I have already a nice polished usable tool.
There is one feature I really would like to include that would add a huge value to cStatus: a bandwidth measurement tool between 2 locations.
So I still plan soon to improve a couple of things and add that tool.

If for some reason cStatus tool supports grows I think multilanguage would be very important, but I really don't know If it will get there.

Wow, this thing is cool … And very fast on the scan. Nicely done!

This is now replacing the Angry IP Scanner I've been using for years.

Really like the whois tool. I've been using the SoftGears whois CLI tool for close to 20 years now. Which is kinda the problem, being almost 20 years old in can glitch a bit at times.

Is there any chance of getting your whois as a stand alone CLI utility? If you don't have time to do it, and are willing to share the code for that function, I can work with that also if need be.

If I add a command line options to cStatus ex: cStatus /t:whois and it opens the Whois tool, is this ok to you? (you could create a .cmd file and just open the .cmd)

Unfortunately, I'm looking for something that is strictly CLI that I can drop inside the %PATH% environment variable on our Exchange server etc. I frequently run into situations where I have to do troubleshooting, and I like to keep it straight CLI for speed and simplicity.

So if somebody is flooding the target with whatever, I can do a whois -r to see what the range of their providers addresses are, so I can quickly block the entire range - at the router/edge level - to keep them from jumping addresses and continuing the attack.

You gotta move fast for that kind of "game play", and a GUI just ain't fast enough...  :D

But I do love the program for the slower paced stuff, it's great for doing a LAN map to see what is where when surveying a network.

I understand you I have the same pain sometimes in my day job :D

I use cStatus whois with custom server in those situations (it's fast enough for my needs):

I'll consider your request when I have some time to look at it.

If you like cStatus to LAN mapping. I'm sure you'll like the next release, I've improved the IP scanner a lot with more options and details.
And I'm preparing cStatus so that in the future it can use SNMP to get more information of the network.
