Re: Automatic Screenshotter v1.13.01 beta - July 29, 2019

Hello,

I'm new here, discovering superb tools like Automatic Screenshotter  :-*

I have noticed two issues / bugs that may be interesting to report :
- On File Saving settings, from 1 to 10, it is inverted. In other words, 10 will be lowest quality even if it is written the opposite (high quality low compression).
- Windows 10 notifications are still forced, even if I keep telling Windows to stop and even block notifications from this tool.

Hope this can contribute.

Sorry for the delayed reply.

I've uploaded a beta to address the compression quality settings being reversed, and to show the proper screenshot save directory in options:
Beta download of v1.13.01:

But can you clarify what Windows 10 notifications you are talking about?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

About Windows 10 notifications, I noticed that every time I start this tool, I get a notification about his status, it is the same when it is set to autostart with windows, I'll get a notification about this tool start.
Even if I tell windows to block or stop notifications from this tool, I keep getting notifications from this tool and only from this tool.

Hope this helps to clarify (sorry if my English is approximate)

I got a report about an error.  Has anyone gotten an "Invalid Window Handle" error from Automatic Screenshotter before? If so, can you identify what might have been going on when it happened? Or better yet, can anyone reproduce it?

I am testing AS since a couple of days and I like it very much.
But I noticed that when the saving quality is set to "1" I get an error (Error on creating PNG). All the other quality settings seems to be OK.
I really miss the possibility to activate AS when I am writing a text. The simplest way would probably be the possibility to set as hotkey the "ENTER" key, which actually is not possible.
I cannot set as a hotkey any letter without CTRL or ALT (it will not be printed).
Hope you can add this feature :)

Btw I've been working hard on my Mouser's Media Browser tool, that AS comes bundled with. To use it just select from menu to "View -> Launch internal image browser".

Love the tool.  One issue that has become almost a show-stopper for me, however, is the fact that it always starts in paused-mode.  I want it to start taking screenshots as soon as it auto-starts with my computer. The auto-start works but it does so in paused mode.

Is there somehow a way to set it so it's not paused by default?

It should start up in the same state it was left.. Sometimes on reboot it can get confused.. Can you try turning on capture and exiting, and then starting the app again, and see if it starts capturing.
If not let me know and I will fix.

Thanks for your reply.  I tried precisely that - but to no avail - it does not preserve the last setting.  So kindly fix.

Any update on this, please?  I didn't make a new request after seeing this post, and was waiting for this feature to be implemented.

I too would like NOT to see a notification on the start up of Automatic Screenshotter, as user JSSSX has requested.

Not at all urgent or important for my purpose, just thought it would be nice to have this as an additional option.

Thanks a lot for providing AS for Free.

Dynamic screenshot file format doesn't seem to be working. It's always saving PNG, even in situations where the JPG would be smaller.

Thanks for making this! Aside from this small issue I love the program.

Let me look into that.  Automatic Screenshotter is due for some attention.
