The 40 euro (€39.99) offer for Affinity Designer (vector software), ends in about two and a half hours.
This not a recommendation (read thread above if you're unsure, but considering).
Goes up to 50 euros (49.99) after that. Not sure of US$ prices.

US$39.99 and as of this moment it still shows as $39.99 but I'm not sure whether the freebies are still included.

Deal is apparently over. Price is now back to $49.99 and with no freebies.

Oh well!  :-\

Don't worry, if you've ever had any dealings with Serif, you'll know that another special offer will be along shortly.

Seems that 'Photo' for windows is about to be launched. It's being offered for sale at any rate:
https://affinity.sto...s/buy/windows/photo/
(again at an introductory offer of 10$ less until december 22)

FWIW I downloaded the beta but never got to try it.

Bit more info:

We have finally got the news you have been waiting for: Affinity Photo for Windows is now on sale! Plus, as promised, we are making it available for a limited time with a 20% launch discount, so you can buy it now for only US$39.99!

Plus! Extra bonus offer

As if the discounted price wasn’t enough we are also giving away a pack of Macros designed specifically for use with Affinity Photo. Everyone ordering in the first two weeks get this fantastic pack for free – you’ll receive a download link for them in your order confirmation!

Offer ends 22nd December, so don’t miss out!

Don't forget to play the currency game, it's AU$13 cheaper for me to buy it in UKP including paying the VAT, (PayPal currency converter), (AU$63 via Serif, AU$50 via PayPal in UKP).

Good review of Affinity as a photo editor in today's AskWoody newsletter.

I believe you need to be a Plus member (donation) to read it.

thanks
I think it would be okay to quote the conclusion (if you think otherwise let me know, here or per PM, & I will redact)
Affinity Photo is a great value, given the depth of tools it offers. Take advantage of the free trial to see whether it fits your workflow nicely.

Pros: Clear video tutorials and automatic adjustments that save a lot of time.

Cons: No print equivalents of the video tutorials. The RAW processing seems slow, and the controls for perspective distortion are limited: the results were unsatisfactory.
